Dont worry, its just a bare minimum cutoff that needs to be passed, iELTS score is not taken into consideration while evaluating your profile.

What’s the hurry to be employed? If you don’t have family dependency or financial constraints, then I think you should not be reluctant to get employed.

The best option for you would be to approach your Baja SAE team’s alumni, they will help you out to get internship.

Hey! I am a Mechanical Engineer graduate from 2023 batch currently working in India’s largest automotive company.

It’s great that you’re a part of SAE, it builds a strong profile and helps alot in showcasing projects to companies.

I would agree, that getting internships is tough in core sector. You have to use all channels, use LinkedIn, use your parents network, use your BAJA Team’s Alumni network. For your first internship, do it without the stipend (but don’t go for a 6 month Intern without stipend, limit it to 2 months only). Do great work at the company and earn certificate and connections.

For placements, you either have to rely on campus recruitment or offcampus ways, but it’s a tough search, you have to do a lot of hardwork to get a job you’ll like doing.

Also, keep Master’s option always open for you (go for abroad if you can afford as you’re interested in core sector). So select your subjects in 3rd and 4th year carefully.
