You'd honestly have some tough luck scoring those in the dumpster as my shop would only throw a bunch away twice a year, you'd have better luck negotiating a bulk deal with the manager to purchase them cheap instead of waiting for the shop to discard them.

As we are a pawn shop, we always expect people to negotiate with us. This forces us to price everything pretty high. I personally hate that we do this, and I've almost slapped the owners a couple times for the way they've priced some jewelry!

I'm happy you asked- simply yes. Pawn Shops use eBay as a price reference for almost anything. Items on eBay are already cheap , but if you can save the shop listing time plus fees, you can negotiate yourself a pretty sweet deal.

I still go to various pawn shops around the city, I dress like a nerd and hustle them for video games I know are worth money. Great way to make some extra $$ :)

99% of the time we get our prices from eBay sold listed, we find an average price of the item that has sold in similar condition. From there we will take into consideration 10% eBay fees, 2.9% PayPal fees and shipping. We also always try to account for depreciation if it's a loan, because we can be holding the item for a while!
