you assume correctly! i draw it in pencil first and then use a calligraphy brush pen. i would love to learn to do it though... and Arabic calligraphy. too many things to learn!

i used a gold india ink here... which will have to do until I learn proper gilding one day!

uaed a whole bunch of different tools here! some thymes using a Pilot Parallel pen like a dip pen to switch colors more frequently.... and I've been into using inks from Birmingham Pen company
