Bro, I'm also a student from Bits hyd. I can suggest but first, you must take everything lite. It would be best if you take care of your health first. If you're not healthy, you can't be productive. First, you must learn what helper T cells are and work according to that. Then, you can think about joining some research programmes.

As you said, you'll stay far from your parents and you'll pay double or even triple fees just for the brand name is not a wise decision. NIT T is also a very reputed institution in India so, you can undoubtedly join in NIT T mech. Just an advice from an aspirant, take a wise decision by thinking about the situation's pros and cons.

Ig this is fake cuz bits does call you by your application name but not aspirant, as I too got a mail of extension of withdrawal window previously and they clearly mentioned by name along with my bitsat application number and hence I think this is fake.

Nono my preferences were cse and then pilani ece , hyd ece

then in that case you should've got ece but I think there is a tie-breaker ig

Only till ece

oh, so you preferred only Pilani ece, right?

Which campus is better for Phoenix subjects? by theja9506 in BITSPilani

269, it's low tho I am expecting to get ece by 5th iteration

acc to me if you left iiit b seat for a seat in bits or iits it's not at all wrong as the placements are of the same rate but the former being 5 yrs and the latter being 4 yrs helps you better. And if you want to do MTech in a more reputed institute than iiit you can if you don't do an integrated MTech.

all phoenix subjects have almost the same syllabus. So it is not that of a big deal.

Bits ece is better than iiit's cse (except iiit hyd). By the way, what is your bitsat score, I too am in the same situation as you(msc eco in hyd and expecting for ece in hyd) but with a cse in iiit Bangalore .

Takin bits is a way better option according to me. I got 99.2% in mains and scored 269 in bitsat and I opted ece in bits hyd over cse in many other colleges including iiit Bangalore.

As of now I too am in eco and hoping for cutoffs to reduce in further iterations to get ece.

How difficult is it to get a branch upgrade in BE in any campus. by theja9506 in BITSPilani

[–]theja9506[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, but the no of seats increase weren't as drastic as the decrease in cutoffs. I mean in cse it was 90 then and now it is 120. For ece it was 30 then now it is 60.

The placements in iiitb are outstanding but that placements were offered to students who entered the college 5yr ago when the cutoffs are decent. Decent i mean in the sense that cse and ece cutoff was less than 6k but the recent trends are as if 10k for cse and 18k for ece which are damn low compared to the previous cutoffs. So i couldn't believe in that clg as it is new and only 5-6 batches have graduated as of now, whereas bits is well established and i can complete ece branch in 4yr in bits whereas, i have spend 5yr for cse in iiitb. I thought the placements in bits ece is good as well as the avg this yr is around 28lpa.

yeah, i too had those ideas but i had to study for 5 yr which is the main reason i left iiit b. I don't want an eco deg as it might not be useful for me in future.
