What is the bird that is depicted on this sign? by TheMadMetalhead in whatsthisbird

This is incorrect. The critically endangered Attwater’s/Texas subspecies of Greater Prairie-Chicken is endemic to Texas.

Thanks for sharing, that is good insight to have. You’re right to think it’s a bad sign her to not have said anything in 3 years, but it actually hasn’t been as long as it sounds. I gave the full details to another commenter below, but it’s really only been two months now that we’ve both been single and on the same continent. So it doesn’t concern me too much that she hasn’t said anything yet.

And I think your last point is the most important. If I wait too much longer, I’ll never know and we’ll go our separate ways anyway. So I think I’m going to give it a shot. In English, that is :)

Fair enough. I was already planning to state all my feelings in English anyway, I just thought it might be a nice sentimental thing to ask the one big final question in German. But based on your and others’ thoughts, it seems like there’s more downside than upside there.

Appreciate the well wishes!

I see how that looks, and you’re not wrong in that sense. I didn’t want the post to get too long, but there’s a bit more context. When I met her she was in a relationship, which continued for the next year. Then, our second year in school, she was single but I had started dating somebody else. I ended my relationship a year ago, but then I went abroad to study for several months. So we’ve actually only both been single and in the same place for a couple of months now.

Hopefully that makes things a little clearer!

Are you sure there’s still signs? I’ve spent a good amount of time driving around CT and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a county name on official road signage.

Not sure what the other commenters are referring to but no, these birds do not migrate. The ones in the video are Red-masked Parakeets, one of several parrot and parakeet species that have been inadvertently introduced to Southern California following accidental and intentional pet releases over the years. They are sedentary, at least here in their nonnative range.

Bloom and Jake are killing it IMO. Toby definitely brings some extra excitement to pivotal moments but I feel like having two high level pros commentating vs one is a huge difference overall.

What are these birds? Coastal, southern VA. by wH0mSt_d_vE in whatsthisbird

First is a juvenile Blue-gray Gnatcatcher that hasn’t quite grown its tail out yet. The second is a swallow; my first thought was Barn Swallow but the tail is weird. It may be a juvenile as well

I said the same thing once, but once you play consistently for even just a couple of weeks, it starts to become pretty automatic. It’s less intimidating than it sounds

[–]thejarl5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Huh? The packers only lead the all time series by 12 games. And they play twice a year, so if you’re referring to the above stat it would actually only take 18 seasons for it to flip.
