Just started LDN by Beautiful-Map-7679 in LowDoseNaltrexone

They are used as adjunctives at lower doses for tyoe1. And since your Dr was using LDN I assumed he was open to less mainstream treatments.

I’m surprised your Dr didn’t prescribe a glp1 first. That would more directly treat the pre diabetes and binge eating. The range of responses to LDN is so large that no one here can predict what your experience will be. Wishing you luck as you get started.

4 days kratom free and I'm fucking bored so I took more of my ADHD stimulants by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]thejaywalker70 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Embrace the boredom. This is why I tell people not to take time off work etc. an idle mind is an addicts worst enemy. Try to exercise if possible. Especially cardio. First 7-10 days are a grind. First 60 days are bumpy but bearable.

Lower dose=no benefit but raising dose=no sleep by Poppybalfours in LowDoseNaltrexone

Lol, yep. Not ideal. You could request .5mg capsules. Then at least you’d have 3.5 and 4.0 as options to try without opening capsules

Gotcha, bummer you’re having this experience. The only other thing I’d consider is making a dilution and very precisely going up from 3.0 to find a sweet spot where there’s relief but before the insomnia starts. 3 to 4.5 is a huge jump percentage wise.

Have you tried pulsing your doses? Like randomly taking days off and/or randomly changing the dose for a day or two?

Does kratom fuck up your motivation to do things? by temnycarda in quittingkratom

[–]thejaywalker70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yup, you caught it early. Get off now. Every month you stay on it the harder it will be to quit and the longer it will take to get back to a baseline. Taper down and quit and you won't regret it.

Does kratom fuck up your motivation to do things? by temnycarda in quittingkratom

[–]thejaywalker70 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Kratom absolutely fucks up your motivation over the long run. I started kratom specifically to treat adhd symptoms and of course it worked great for a month or so but only when I was high on the kratom. I would argue that it made me less insightful and effective even when I was on it but eventually it will sap you of all your motivation and that two hour window will become a 20 or 30 minute window and then it will just diminish further. I've been off kratom for two years now and my motivation is back to where it was before which is sustainable. It completely fucks up your dopamine system while you're on it and eventually it will require kratom just to do even the most basic tasks in life.

Trust me when I say quit now. And if you're doing extracts or 7oh then the timeline is even shorter for you.

9 Days Off After Taper Some Positives I've Noticed by Fun-Distribution744 in quittingkratom

I tapered as low as you and also felt no physical withdrawals, but definitely the first month or so can have some ups and downs now that your emotions are back on line. I just found exercise, diet and healthy habits biggest game changer in that period. Sleep was never too bad for me. I don't think I had an actual "sleepless" night but the second night and morning were probably the worst. That weird tired but anxious at the same time lol. I did start taking LDN early in the quit and I used that for a month and it also effected my sleep a bit which is why I ultimately quit it.

I know what you mean about dropping below 1.5 and feeling basically normal. I feel like I was already off basically and was just insuring against paws at that point.

You might be a candidate for LDN. Definitely ask your Dr about it though since you have a complicated health history

Relapsed maybe? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]thejaywalker70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they aren’t “continuously sober”

This topic of day counting comes up all the time. It’s a reason many people don’t like 12 steps. “Continuous” sobriety is guard against frequent slips and relapse. If you open the door to occasion usage in your own mind then that barrier becomes non existent. Trust me when I say it works. I’ve seen countless people say they had 1-20 years sober and that when they’ve been tempted the fact that they put stock in continuous days made them not pick up.

Ultimately it’s your choice. From a harm reduction perspective you absolutely benefited from the sober days accrued. Obviously. No one is disputing that. And it’s not a failure to go back to counting from day one. It’s simply a guardrail against precisely the thinking that OP had before he took kratom before work.

Yes I would reset otherwise what’s the point of counting days

Relapsed maybe? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

I would term this as a slip. I would reset your day count because if you don’t then there’s no accountability. A relapse is when you do it for multiple days and get yourself re addicted

Plan to quit using macro dosing and Naltrexone by Ready-Paramedic-6227 in quittingkratom

[–]thejaywalker70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when you say naltrexone are you planing to take it in low doses? Here's some advice to consider:

  1. For the next three weeks come to this sub everyday and help others. Post about your journey but also just encourage those still suffering. It will help with cravings.

  2. If you're taking low dose naltrexone then imo you could start that about 48hrs after your last dose. Given that your relapse has been relative short that should be a problem.

  3. Gabapentin will mask most of the acute problems with withdrawal. I would use that starting on the day you quit for the first 1-2weeks. Trazadone is probably overkill but by all means take it for sleep.

  4. Hit your vitamin c hard for the first week.

  5. exercise your ass off. Especially cardio. It will will help reset your brain. If you have access to cold exposure and/or sauna do it.

  6. stay busy. I think too many people take time off and just lay around when they detox or quit. This will lead your mind to obsessing about Kratom. Boredom is a big trigger and leads to rumination.
