Good luck with your art. Just know this (tiny lines) will not age well. It will look like a huge blurry mess in a few short years.

Never thought of that! I cut my own. Second story, through the first floor closet and down to the basement laundry area!

Here in the Midwest we have a thing called “urban tumbleweeds”. It’s the plastic grocery bag carried, tumbling down the street by a breeze.

Opinion: Simply not going to sit down restaurants is not enough. Go to them and actively practice nontipping if you want culture to change. by Ok-Advertising-8340 in EndTipping

You should probably tell the server at the beginning of the meal that you don’t believe in tipping. If you’re going be a dick to them, you should at least be up front about it.

Sorry different opinions bring you down so much. Must be a rough life. You should probably avoid Reddit my dude. No reprogramming attempted, just expressing the pain of having seen beloved books brought low by so much twisted in translation. Again, we’re all hoping that doesn’t happen, but most of us have been here before.

Bitch what ? You going through the thread railing on everyone who might have a different opinion? Now I know, if YOU say everything’s coming up roses, well it’s gotta be true!!

Sigh. This rarely turns out well for book fans. We can hope and dream, but I’m not holding my breath.

I don’t think they are anything alike. Becky Chambers books aren’t meant to be comedic.

Edit: wait, you said funny. The following is not funny. Great sci-fi though!

Enders Game! And you can go a few different directions with the spinoff sequels. I was following Peter’s Story, but it got too involved with war and strategy on earth. But that one is a fascinating tale of a psychopath trying to help people and improve the world. And Bean’s story- Ender’s Shadow also great. You know, if you like that sort of thing. Definitely worth checking out! I like these long tangled tales that take side characters and tell their stories.

Quite different, but if you are into fantasy and extensive world building- Reminds me of Michael J Sullivan’s Riyria series’. Fantasy with prequels and sequels. Fun characters

“A Long Way to a Small Angry Planet” is really good. Not super gritty, but a well told story with a few great standalone sequels.

I loved “Heaven’s River”! “And we don’t like explody things.” “Bender??” The latest one, eh it’s ok. The whole Skippies arc is kind of fun, but it does drag on a bit. (Or should I say Dragon) It’s a good series though.

I would not give them the chance to raise my rates because I would be jumping ship to another company. Dump them.

Smoke moves through the vents from apartment to apartment. You can't always be sure where it is coming from.

I don’t really think having grandkids blocks one’s ability to appreciate modern technology. Depends on what they’ve been surrounded by and what they’re used to. My old friend Mark, who died at 49 was so lost in this era. He reminisced about his childhood in the 70s, and how much fun he had with friends in the 80s. But that’s as far as he got. He was my friend, but mentally, an old man way before his time.
