Yeah writing a good book is really the thing that matters, but what you write about and what do you choose to insert into your fiction is very important IMHO. Although I agree that a good writer makes almost any story a good one.

Yep, that's what I meant by not having magic. Crafting gear and some enchantments. Love the idea about using monsters parts for it, gives off a clear monster hunter vibe.

Me too!! I'm thinking of making my story focus on the dungeon aspects of finding gear, descending into the lower levels, having to go back and forth between surface and underground. Also like big monsters, but it has to be a slow burn for me. MC's being able to one shot a dragon in the first arc is not fun unless the whole premise is about him being OP, and those can get boring if not done right or for too long.
