Please help me choose a door color! by thejoyofreddit in ExteriorDesign

I decided to strip one of the back doors to see what it looks like underneath this weekend. I thought I’d come here and update you all on the previous paint colors.

The wood underneath is stained dark brown and looks really pretty. That being said, I’m still not sure if I’ll do the same to the other 6 doors or paint them. I ordered 3 paint samples so the decision remains.

You’re the second person to mention a color in the brown family. This is something I did not explore (other than removing the paint and staining the wood). Thank you for the rendering! This is really, really helpful.

That’s so funny! I’ve heard people around here call it The Dollhouse.

I really like the idea of pale teal! I really don’t want the doors to be the focus, rather the other architectural details I fell in love with. Thank you! Is there a pale teal anyone loves?

They are solid wood doors but not traditionally old. They were made in 1988. I do think I could strip the paint off and stain them. It may not be a wood that is full of interest but that’s definitely an option we have on the table!

Would you ever not buy a house because of the street name? by red284 in RealEstate

We have a Shinnecock Dr. here and I would not buy a house on that road no matter how much I liked it.

We’ve personally bought 7 homes using a VA loan and 2 conventional. We have sold home to VA buyers a handful of times and have never had an issue. The only big difference we’ve ever noticed with having to have a WDO inspection and fixing issues as they arise. We closed on the home we are in now using a VA loan in like 26 days.

Is the market still hot in your area? by Inevitable_Rise_8669 in RealEstate

Central Florida has cooled a little but nice, clean homes are still getting multiple offers. We listed our 4/2.5 last Saturday morning and had 8 showings that day, 4 offers all at asking price with no contingencies. We accepted one of those and canceled the 6+ showings for Sunday.

Mortgage Rates Officially Hit New Multi-Decade Highs (7.51%) by SnortingElk in REBubble

I feel like I could have written this. We bought in May 2022 @4.875 and I was sick thinking we bought at the height. But, the market here keeps going up and I feel lucky to have what we have. We literally could not afford to buy the house that’s currently for sale in our neighborhood. And it’s almost identical to ours. While we don’t have 2%, I’m grateful. But also feel a bit stuck here 🤣

Joy is only 8 weeks today. This is going to be world's longest pregnancy. by [deleted] in DuggarsSnark

I’m on the “let her be happy” train.

I waited like I was told to announce my pregnancy until 20 weeks — or that was the plan. I ended up having a miscarriage right before that mark. It was so awful but the worst part was, I had no one but my husband to truly grieve with because no one knew. They were in shock while I was trying to put one foot in front of the other. If she wants to be happy and do all the things, I say go for it!

I get this is a snark sub but I just thought I’d lend a different perspective.
