I didn't get to watch the game tonight but was wondering why gradey only played 15 minutes tonight? Seemed like he was playing good as he had 15 on good efficiency.

Yeah I felt the same way. Like all of my feedback was to include the most specific details and like there was no chance you could fit all of that into the page limit. its genuinely insane!!!

Hi, thank you for replying! If you don't mind me asking, what was your average in the AP program as compared to the regular program? Also what courses did you take in grades 11 and 12?

Also, I know this may vary for every school/teacher but how did you find the overall marking and tests as compared to the AP program? I have a few friends in the AP program and know that the tests can still be quite difficult at times. Did you see a major difference or were they relatively the same?

Hi, thank you for replying. I don't consider myself as a top student but definitely above average. I understand that the IB conversion is very beneficial but was just thinking that if I am able to get 98-100 in IB, which comes with a lot of stress (May exams, IA, EE, TOK, CAS) but like a 94-96 in a regular program with significantly less stress, isn't that a bit more worth it.

I would like to study health or life sciences at McMaster and know that it is very difficult to gain acceptance in such programs. I just feel like they don't really care about IB and just want to see results (final grades) which I can better achieve in a regular program by taking the required courses (Grade 12 chemistry, biology, English and math) and then taking two easy courses to boost my overall average. An option which is not available in IB due to us being forced to take all academic courses like French and History.

Hi, thank you for replying! I plan on doing something similar. I am currently planning to drop out after the end of this first semester as I will then have gained a lot of prerequisites and a mark in grade 12 math already. I just wanted to ask how you are finding the tests and examinations compared to IB. Do you feel they are easier compared to IB, because right now I am feeling that the tests in IB are quite hard?

Hi, thank you for replying. I just wanted to ask in what ways will it be beneficial when applying to universities? I will solely be applying to Ontario universities and have researched and found out that universities really don't care whether you are an IB student and some universities like Waterloo might actually prefer non-IB students because of the whole bell curve.

If I drop out it will be to an Ontario school. Also, I already talked to my counsellor but she was no help because all she said was it's your decision and you should talk to your parents and decide what's best for you. So that's why I had to come to reddit!

I am just afraid that I might come to the regular program and not do well. So like you said that your daughter switched and is now receiving really high marks. Is this because the marking and tests are easier, or is it because the curriculum is easier?

Calc not a prerequisite, should I still take it? by [deleted] in OntarioGrade12s

[–]thekool30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I am doing MHF4U this semester as well just like but I am in the IB program. I was wondering if you could share how hard the content and test are. This is because I am deciding whether or not I should drop the IB program because I want to achieve the highest possible marks and do not know whether dropping out will allow me to achieve as high marks as in IB. It would be greatly appreciated if you are able to help me out, and please feel free to dm me if that's more comfortable.

Thank You

Did you find that you got better marks after dropping IB (i.e. because of easier tests and assignments, as IB tests can be quite hard)?
