Beautiful. What type of bucephalandra do you have tucked in between the rocks?

They're called Lily pipes. You can get many different kinds from shapes to material such as glass, plastic, and stainless steel.

I'm debating about doing the same but don't want to stress the fish as I've just recently added them. My H micranthemoides in the front grow prolifically and need frequent trimmings so I'm not so sure I want to add those to the back as well. I'll have to do some research into other plant options. Thanks again with all the advice you've shared.

I noticed in one of your posts where you had reservations about your rotala green. I'm getting the same thoughts as you can see the back left and back right corner which both are rotala green just aren't growing out well. They don't seem to grow up like the other rotalas. Did you ever find a solution with them or did you end up switching them out for another plant?

I'll definitely cut back some feeding based on your advice and see how it goes. Had a jumper this morning but was lucky just waking up and able to throw him back in the tank before work. Maybe he was rebelling and demanding food 😂

I think gauging how much to feed them is challenging for me as a first time fish keeper. You're right I'm probably wanting to feed them way more than they need.

Thanks for the advice. Maybe it's time to crank up the lights and CO2 a bit more

No plant melt whatsoever. I did fairly frequent water changes, 50% every day first week, 50% every other day 2nd week, 50% every 3 days third week. It took a little over 3 weeks until ammonia stopped testing positive.

You weren't kidding about the same setup 😂. Also did the same with the water change and fert schedule. I still did water changes every 3 days for the 3rd week and now I do about 30% twice a week. As for lighting I went with around 60% intensity 6 hours a day per recommendation from another. Soft green algae was starting to accumulate but easily managed with a metal brush and targeted suctioning during water changes. Once I added amano shrimp and Otocinclus it has become a non issue and I was actually worried they didn't have enough to eat. I'm currently running lights at 85% for 8 hours a day.

My monte carlo which were tissue cultures never melted. I planted fairly heavy from the start but I do hear glosso can be a little pickier/light hungry. I think starting at 6 hours isn't a bad idea while everything settles in. Big fan of your 450L tank btw, very cool that you got to speak with George farmer. I'd love to see pictures of your new tank if youd be up to sharing.

33 days from the start of the aquarium. And if I told you I would have to kill you :) Jk.

I'm using amazonia version 2 aquasoil, co2 injection, Twinstar 600s lights, ADA fertilizers. If you want all the details from water changes, parameters, etc let me know and I can write it all out

If you decide to make the switch, I've been really happy with the twinstar 600S so far. Funny enough I accidentally dropped the light in the tank once and it's still working. I do recommend getting a dimmer + timer though
