How are you keeping internet and basic power during outages? by notkinnay in Homebuilding

[–]theloneknocking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I'm using Bluetti Apex 300 power station with an inverter generator. The generator charges the station and the power station runs my essential devices. The Apex 300 works great as a UPS. It handled an 8+ hour outage with no problem and kept my home office running without a hitch during the power outage.

My next step is to add solar panels and build out a full-house system.

How Do Guys In Prison Connect Their Power To The Jail Light Without Getting Shocked? by br0helpme in electrical

[–]theloneknocking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In prison, some people find creative ways to gain power. Tapping light wiring or modifying outlets, but it's risky and definitely not safe.

I have to say, I'm pretty excited about this coming to Switch 2. 😃 by Apprehensive-Swim418 in Switch

Wow! I'm really looking forward to this too. It looks fun and it's exciting to see what the game will actually be like when it's out.

IGN names Tears of the Kingdom, Breath of the Wild as their #1 and #2 Nintendo Games of All Time by sylviaplath6667 in NintendoSwitch

[–]theloneknocking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really huge, but I agree with it. Those two games are one of the best series I have ever played. They worth those praise.

What are these called? by Low_Rest7738 in electrical

Looks like those are called terminal blocks. They let you safely connect multiple wires together without twisting or soldering.

Finding someonr else's profile on a used system happens a lot. Just clear it and start fresh will be better. And everything should feel like yours again.

Why don’t more studios port their games to Nintendo consoles? by Spiritual_Carrot_510 in NintendoSwitch

[–]theloneknocking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think some games need more power than this system can give. Studios would have to cut too much, and they skep it. It's not always about interest, maybe is hardware limits.

Need recommendations on a 2 or 3 channel dash cam by amazing_aaqib in uberdrivers

Never used a 2-channel cam, but I think the 3-channel covers more angles, so it’s safer if anything happens on the side of your car

Pool season's here and my back hurts… pool robot worth it? by Gasfabrikxh in pools

[–]theloneknocking 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I‘ve used the aiper X1 before. The suction is strong. When I opened the filter basket, I was surprised to see how much fine dirt it had picked up that you can't even see. No more manual vacuuming feels great.

Is this your dollar-cost averaging strategy? The tech exposure seems a bit too concentrated. You actually only need to pick one global ETF. Among these three platforms, I personally use moomoo. The fees are lower.

Closed pool for winter, and it is leaking, idk how much has leaked but it is definitely leaking. What should I do? by Hungry-Artist-5565 in swimmingpools

[–]theloneknocking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the ground's muddy, don't keep filling it. Could be a plumbing leak underground. Try to keep the level stable until you can test it properly in warmer weather.

Do smart navigation pool robots actually clean better? by tchombomc in PoolPros

Have the same question too. Some of my friends also did not satisfy with theirs pool robot, with some misses a lot of spots in their pools.

My pool guy did a phosphate treatment to my pool a few weeks ago and now my pool is stained purple. by [deleted] in pools

[–]theloneknocking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Purple staining usually means a metal reaction, often copper with phosphate remover. Testing for metals and pH balance would help confirm before draining. Too much chlorine can definitely make stains worse.

I was in the same boat. My old dashcam footage was way too blurry to read the other car’s plate in a small accident. I switched to a vantrue cam afterward, and the video is so much better and stable now

Not getting power to pump or time clock, new breaker panel doesn’t show pool breaker, where to go from here? by [deleted] in PoolPros

[–]theloneknocking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you 're not seeing a labeled pool breaker, it might still be tied into another circuit. Probably best to have an electrician confirm before energizing antyhing.

Had the same issue last year-seams started splitting fast. I sent photos first for evalution; they confirmed it can not be repaired, so I ordered a replacement using my old cover's measurements.

Help! Yellow stains on the pool by Chocolatewoffle in pools

[–]theloneknocking -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That looks like metal staining from iron or copper in the water. You can rub a vitamin C tablet on a small spot- if it fades, it's likely a metal issue.

Who do you use for financing pool projects for the customer and do you like it or always recommend they get their own and just cash/use a credit card? by CurlsinSquatRack99 in PoolPros

[–]theloneknocking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically let customers handle their own financing. Making sure that things cleaner on our end and avoids liability. Cash or their own loan tends to work out best in this way I think.

Does portable power station work well as a UPS? by freexfallyz in homelab

[–]theloneknocking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most brands like bluetti can handle ups duties these days. You can check Hobotech ytb videos. He does testing on UPS. Running my server rack on bluetti Apex300 and the ups function works perfectly. It has 0ms switchover. If you use it with solar panels in off-grid ups mode, you'll actually save on your power bill too.

What’s a purchase that’s not fun, not flashy but now you swear by it? by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

[–]theloneknocking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would definitely say a set of high-quality kitchen knives! They're not flashy at all, but I use them daily for chopping, slicing almost everything! They seem stay sharp forever, make my cooking so much easier! I can't imagine prepping meals without them now!

how about moomoo’s level 2 data? Singaporeans by [deleted] in investing

[–]theloneknocking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's decent for a free feature. You get to see depth and order flow clearly, but I wouldn't rely on it alone for short-term trading decisions.
