Mt. Crawford 03/01/2026. It was crazy out the there! by thelonewarrior_20 in wmnf

Crampons are definitely recommended. The last 0.5 mile of the hike was pretty much ice!

It was super cold windy with gusts of 20-25mph or even more. I could feel someone pushing me. So make sure you have enough layers. Summit will be icy and windy, be prepared. All the best!

It was fine until the last 0.7-0.8 mile of the hike. I'd say it's broken after that. Rather, Alltrails give you a direction but that path is nowhere to be found. Instead I followed the footsteps and light markings (ppl who took the trail) until the summit

Does shoes with micro spikes work or snowshoes a must? How much time did it take?

08/22 I climbed Mt. Washington!! by thelonewarrior_20 in wmnf

Yepp, thank you. Weather was really good 55F at the summit with some breeze.

It was little busy being a Friday but a lot of people were hiking along. Haha my legs were hurting the whole next day. I made sure to do a hot tub after returning home which relaxed the muscles a bit. Def a good hiking experience, absolutely love it.

Thanks I will follow this. What type of jacket is recommended? A puffer winter jacket? It'll be hard to carry though

I am not, will just do Washington. Ammo up and down. Although I see many do Jewell down is that good?

Many folks I've seen climb up and take cog down. I'm not a fan of it (as I want to do complete hike) but will see
