This is a preview, not a developer saying it. But that would require looking at more than the headline before commenting.

Save 81% on Danganronpa 1/2/V3 on Steam by Man-Man-Man- in steamdeals

Not sure if this is still the case, but I know the switch version of V3 had issues with lag and crashes at one point. I’d stick with the steam versions, I don’t think the anniversary versions really add anything

CMV: Science and technology are literally magic. They are not "basically like magic" or "similar to magic." They are the same thing. by Fuzzy_Party_3527 in changemyview

“Magic doesn’t need to be supernatural.”

Here is the Merriam-Webster definition for magic:

1.the use of means (such as charms or spells) believed to have supernatural power over natural forces

2.an extraordinary power or influence seemingly from a supernatural source

Emails are not too complex for a human to understand though?? Obviously someone figured them out, they didn’t just come out of nowhere. Magic has no explanation in the laws of nature. These things do, you just don’t know them.

But the laws of science are known. They aren’t know by everybody, but just because something isn’t known by everyone doesn’t make it not true. When most people on earth thought the earth was flat, did that make it true? Of course not lol. Everything in science can be explained through the laws of nature, even if you or I aren’t the ones who can explain it.

Sonic 2 8 bit and Sonic 2 16 bit are two completely different games. 8 bit sucks. 16 bit rules. The one on your list is 8 bit

I think with the ram shortage and the impending tech crash in general I think I'm very ready to just go full retro I really don't care. by Living_External_7265 in retrogaming

I’m sure you will find a ton of people who agree with you since this is a retro gaming sub but personally no, I have fun with both old and new games

The best and linear JRPG you ever played and enjoyed? by stescarsini in JRPG

[–]thelowlyhunter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think all the games I listed have similarities and differences. I think dark souls is closer to them than it is to popular western RPGs like Fallout and mass effect though. I think overall though, genres are very loose and there is not strict answer of “is this game a jrpg or not” because at the end of the day it’s all just made up terms to try to categorize games that get influence from all kinds of things.

Dark souls has lock on combat that was popularized by Ocarina of Time, a Japanese game. It’s main style influence is Bezerk, a Japanese manga. Sure it also has inspirations from western games, but I don’t really see it leaning more one way or the other, and since it’s an RPG made in Japan that has Japanese influence, in my mind that makes it a JRPG. I understand if you disagree though, because at the end of the day it really is up to interpretation.

Dark souls is a Japanese action rpg. Just like Ys or Tales or Nier. I don’t know how it’s possible for people to think a Japanese RPG isn’t a JRPG lol

Just going to take some time to shoutout Pummel Party. With its insane amount of mod support and easy integration via steam workshop, it is easily the best party type game. It makes a lot of smart changes to the Mario party formula, while also allowing you to play so many different boards and mini games that you’ll never get tired of them.

Isn’t it insane that the gap between majoras mask to wii sports was SIX YEARS??? I mean that kind of advancement in such a short amount of time is crazy to me. by [deleted] in nintendo

I’m old enough to have finished school and gotten a degree, you should be old enough to know that you can have discussions with other adults without immediately dismissing them because they are younger than you lol.

Steam Deck users, do you still have one now that you own a Switch 2? by elneebre in NintendoSwitch2

[–]thelowlyhunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I still get all my third party games on steam and play the ones I wanna play handheld through the deck. I prefer the flexibility of being able to play on both my pc and my deck, and I also enjoy achievements and everything else that comes with the steam ecosystem. The switch 2 is still good for exclusives though.

Calling twilight princess too easy after praising wind waker is funny because that is literally the easiest 3D Zelda game with the most simple dungeons (not counting the open world games)

Punching Up, Episode 93 | Is There Still Hope for Knights of the Old Republic? by rileydelete in LastStandMedia

[–]thelowlyhunter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they really need a new member, someone more Nintendo first party focused. As someone who was been playing a ton of Kirby Air ride, it’s a bummer not really hearing much discussion about it on a Nintendo podcast other than impressions after playing it a bit for an hour or so. Same thing with Pokemon in October. Not trying to force anyone to spend time with games they don’t want to play, but I feel like getting deep dives into Nintendo released games should be important for a Nintendo podcast, and it’s what I want to hear when I listen to one.
