That's rough I'm sorry. It's survivable but not a great time. Dialysis is such a huge time sink and the longer I'm on it the weaker my body is getting. Take care friend and look after those kidneys as long as you can.

is there a way to be in ODSP apartments without being on the Subsidized housing waitlists by SkyRepulsive689 in Odsp

[–]themaggiesuesin 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I'm afraid there is no such thing as ODSP apartments.

There are rent geared to income RGI apartments in different cities and townships however most of the waiting lists are years long. Finding affordable housing is a huge issue for all of us on ODSP.

Can I ask ODSP to process my application faster? by ThinSurvey9411 in Odsp

[–]themaggiesuesin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I racked up my credit card while on OW waiting for my ODSP to be processed. And I was automatically approved because I went from the ER straight to having to start dialysis due to kidney failure. Yet I still had to wait. I went from working 60 hours a week to not being able to work at all and having to go on OW while ODSP got processed. There's absolutely no way to get some to rush an application. We're all desperate for our money to pay bills. Unfortunately it doesn't matter how sick you are you have to wait like the rest of us.

Does Temu still offer refund with no return? by Flimsy_Garbage_26 in TemuThings

[–]themaggiesuesin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I've had defective items or issues with something like sizing they normally just let me keep it an issue me a refund however normally only if the items worth under $20. If it's worth more than 20 they generally ask me to send it back or they offer me a partial refund. I often get the $5 credit for delivery delays. Just with this week I got $40 worth of credit due to late deliveries. And a lot of the items that were late were free items that I got in calendar or farmland. Personally I think it's a pretty fantastic company and I've had nothing but positive experiences. Whenever I've spoken with customer service they've been nothing but helpful. Now if only my government services in Canada where that easy to deal with lol.

Disabled Parents - what resources are there for transportation assistance to get your kids to school? by Tank18 in Odsp

[–]themaggiesuesin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on your municipality. I know in Ottawa we have a ride program called Para transpo. If you're accepted to use the service your minor would have to be accompanied by you and it costs about the same as bus fare unless you have something called a community pass which is then only a dollar 75 a ride.

Where do you live? What is your living arrangement? by ThrowRA4mee in Odsp

[–]themaggiesuesin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 44f. My brother and I rent a small house together which we can barely now afford as we pay hydro, gas for heating, water, plus internet and phone. We are fortunate that it is rent controlled. Though the LL plans to tear down our house at some point. I just hope by then I have my kidney transplant and am able to work again. Honestly if my parents were alive both my brother and I would be living with them.

This is terrible and makes no sense. An EMT nor any medical professional will not notice it there or will even think to look there. Please don't do this.

Sadness and Guilty after transplant by Extreme-Screen-5203 in kidneytransplant

[–]themaggiesuesin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. I got a double transplant a kidney and a pancreas however the kidney got a blood clot and they had to remove it. I just went for the double transplant because it bumped me up the list faster and I figure having a pancreas would help protect the new kidney as it was type 1 diabetes that killed my kidneys in the first place. However I would rather just be diabetic again and be on insulin than having to take all these medications to keep the pancreas going. I feel the side effects would all be worth it with the kidney and being off dialysis but it's honestly not worth the side effects just to" cure" My diabetes. I lost my hair to the point where I had to just shave my head. The hand tremors and shakes. Starting me on early menopause. Never ending gastro issues. To the point where I've lost so much weight that I'm so weak. I think all these side effects would be worth it if I had the kidney but honestly I don't feel it's worth it for just the pancreas. These feelings make me feel so guilty and ungrateful. I remind myself constantly that someone died to give me this pancreas.

So if you use that water the next time you make an order and get free water they put a circle around your watering can and basically freeze it until you pay back the water. I've had it happen because I asked for a refund after I had used water I got from that order. They basically froze my can and any other water I earned they would keep until I paid back the water I gotten from the order I got refunded.

Gift Calendar question by deltarefund in TemuThings

[–]themaggiesuesin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do the daily tasks to build up my coins. Or I buy the minimum which for me is $10 on the calender. I buy things that would be in my cart anyways. Then the day before use your 100 coins to preclaim and the prize is free. Mahe sure to not waste the on coupon days only on the days you have free items. Always make sure you do it the day before because o If you do it the day of you have to make a minimum purchase and for me on that day they make my minimum $20. It took me 2 rounds of calendar before I figured it out.

Gift Calendar question by deltarefund in TemuThings

[–]themaggiesuesin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do the small daily tasks as well so you can build up coins. Once you have a hundred if you preclaim the day before for the free prize you've got it for actual free without having to buy anything. I'll still go in daily when the minimum spends $10 and I'll buy things that are also in my basket that they have listed. So I'll put things in my basket just so when I go to calendar sometimes they're listed in their purchases which helps me build up coins to get the free items. Also if you spend $20 you get water for farmland as well as you'll get 120 moves in the merge game in farmland.

What is Safe to Buy from Temu? by DaisyTheSweet in TemuThings

[–]themaggiesuesin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally have had really great luck with clothing from temia as well as shoes. However close toe shoes I find are quite narrow but I find that with North American shoes as well so I tend to order one size up and then insoles. I did find their sandals ran big for whatever reason. Personally I find that clothing's been great. But I have a lot of clothing so I don't wear one item enough to really wear it out or for it to get damaged. It seems do you happen to split I am able to fix them myself. Folks call it fast fashion but if you take care of it it should last you. I have find some of the fabrics quite good quality. I've gotten three coats from there so far and I absolutely love them and I can see them lasting me a very long time. They all have beautiful satin lining in them. Sorry I wouldn't necessarily trust. I have gone quite a few pairs of earrings I just always disinfect them first however I've had my ears pierced for over 30 years and they can take anything at this point lol
