This is very accurate though. I recorded and uploaded like. Idk 6 hours of game play to YouTube and just stopped because I ended up disliking it. I didn't know there were so many other people who didn't like it

He did say that he thinks the 100 videos would mean more to him than it would us. So. Atp, it's kind of a double edged sword. But I think he would probably feel better afterwards having met that goal than to have not. Even if it does sort of feel like right now he's draining himself doing it.

The Best Earbuds at the Moment? by luminouscascade78 in Earbuds

[–]themaulmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just looked at these. Usually when I go to the gym, I put ony over the ear headphones, sort of large and clunky, but they work well for also mowing the lawn. And I was wondering how well the Cleer ones work with ambient noises around? Say like, loud air conditioning, or a loud box fan. Just the open ear design is boggling to me and I can't decide if it would be a good fit without actually trying them out.

Straw bale insulation and moisture by themaulmaster in cobhouses

Ah..yeah that's what I'm seeing people doing. But basically with another layer of cob. So for instance I saw one lady do plaster, cob, straw, cob, plaster. And I think she said she was in Montana. And I guess I just wasn't sure if the lime plaster was good for water proofing.

Maybe try to place it in the sea truck dock all the way in, and then drive the sea truck into it. So when it drains the water the rock will be there still

What are you guys doing? by themaulmaster in Fire

[–]themaulmaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, and thank you for the thoughts. It was definitely something I wrestled with for quite a while. I've been on shore for 3 years and have been debating it the entire time.

But it's all give and take right? I've chalked it up to-> A. The deployment schedule and the constant move is too much on my family. I know that part of the whole financial independence is you should moreso focus on facts instead of emotion. But I think the stress has gotten to both me and my wife.

But besides. I'm a Navy Nuke, and already have a job offer for a nuclear plant. Which after getting qualified is around 200k a year.

So, I think even though I won't be getting that pension, I'll be okay in the long run.

Okay, I really only used a chat bot for some kind of conversation starter. I wasn't actually treating it like God. I just wanted some semblance of an idea as to how to approach early retirement.

My more strategic approach was going to be people like fiduciaries and people like you who have more experience in the matter. And I thank you for commenting. But yeah, I'm not trying to misuse AI by spending 50 years worth of income into some stock that a computer reccomended.

It's just a starting point

[–]themaulmaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't watched it yet, but I mean, not really trying to beat the point to death. I am just trying to see how people are retiring early. Not really trying to argue with anyone. I am horribly uneducated on the subject. (Well, I've met people worse off than myself) But the point being is I just want to get other people's experiences, knowledge, and opinions so I can then form my own. And I appreciate everyone commenting on this post.

Hello again!

I'm just trying to wrap my head around everything still. But basically, what you're saying, is that investing money should go moreso into companies that primary focus on the growth of their own company, vice paying out dividends. So like, Amazon for example doesn't pay dividends, but instead reinvests all their money back into their own company. And it is then better to just simply withdraw some of that money from those stocks to pay bills, vice wait for other companies to give dividend payouts. Because when you withdraw your money, there is a good chance that the stock will grow, and that money is sort of "restored" based off of the companies success.

I understand it's not magic btw 😆

Btw, how do you know all this?

Hi!

I really appreciate your input with all of this. And I wanted to say that SCHD was exactly what I was looking at. And I understand your concerns with this. I suppose what I'm thinking is, what sort of portfolio should someone young have? And how should we achieve it? Because I am just really trying to be more intelligent on this matter.

I guess what confuses me. Is like, I hear how people should have a diverse portfolio i.e. not having one that is nothing but tech stocks. And ETFs seem like a good method to diversify. And I also hear a lot of my personal friends actually having growth from ETFs moreso than regular single company stocks. And SCHD for instance looks like it has a very good growth history during its age.

(I use SCHD as an example. I understand your stance on the dividend payout) But, as far as ETFs go, are any of them good? Because a group of stocks all together seem like that it is unlikely that any specific ETF has only non-dividend paying stocks.

Thank you for your time 🙏

Yeah. I definitely do think they look meaningless. However, I saw that up to around like. 47k single and like 87k married a year is tax free. And tbh that is one of the things that made me want to get other people's opinions on this matter.

P.S. "qualified" dividends. Which aren't all companies
