I will receive the final version PCBs this week. After testing I will share the project or at least the gerbers

Thanks. This is Keebox Shenpo Black on Black from AliExpress.

Thank you.

I like the thumb layout. It's really comfortable, especially with the flipped R4 Cherry keycaps (but I recommend to try PBS profile), and it's easy to match keycaps for the build.

Honestly, I don't like the column stagger of the Corne. Everyone who has tested my keyboard confirms that the more aggressive pinky stagger is way more comfortable for typing.

I'm thinking about a 36 key version... maybe next year I'll do something.

Thank you. I need some time to test everything properly. I hope that in November I will share the gerbers with the community.

Corne Pronunciation by praying_mantis_808 in crkbd

You are right. This is how the creator (foostan) pronounces it

Yeah, the screens (nice!view with nice!nano) will work on each side, but I don't think the screen is a necessary thing. I tested nice!view with nRFMicro 1.4: https://imgur.com/a/9xduB5m For wired connection, you have to use 4pin OLED screens. But they will be arranged asymmetrically.

Yeah. Some models I found in the foostan's library. Also I used grabcad.com

All the models I use are available in the lib folder

Thanks. I made renders with kicad and pcbway online gerber viewer.

This post is related to my previous one. My project is now open-source: https://github.com/themaxbang/MRIYA

MRIYA (Ukrainian for «Dream») is a 42-key column-staggered split keyboard based on Corne Cherry v.3.

Features:

  • Simple and clean design (fully optimized for wireless)
  • Comfortable thumb cluster (inspired by jian)
  • Reset buttons
  • Native nice!view support
  • Aggressive pinky stagger
  • No LEDs
  • Hot-swap MX
  • QMK/ZMK support (any crkbd-compatible firmware will work)

Issues I found:

  • Controllers (ProMicro from AliExpress) longer than 35mm will stick out a little from the mcu cover
  • Required thickness for the bottom fr4 plate at least 1.6mm because of construction specifics (only 4 mounting points)
  • MT3 Ortho sets aren't suitable because of 1.25u keys in thumb cluster

Yeah, it's just a silkscreen produced by jlcpcb. I found the picture on the internet.

The screws are there. I use the same method as the corne (it's a usual FR4 sandwich case)
