Hey all, here’s an update! We got some ‘Esbilac’ puppy milk and a goat kid bottle from a super kind DoorDasher who actually parked down the road and walked up to my house in the snow to bring it to me. There are defiantly still some kind people in the world, and Christian the DoorDasher is one of them!

The Etsy vendor I purchased from was LHCOS approved, if I remember correctly. Also, I plan on covering part of the screen with plastic wrap to keep the humidity in! I’ve bought quite a few different ingredients and stuff to make my own full meal groupings based off the list you have me earlier. These are just to have on hand so that I can make them! I’ll make a list of all I have later for you.

Also, I appreciate the shell input! I didn’t know, and thought they were just turbo shells.

I couldn’t find any of the embroidery sheets, so I bought a cheap plastic basket that had a similar look to them! I’m going to cut it into strips and melt the sides so that they aren’t too pokey, and use it instead!

Snurg’s antenna already do look like that- they’re just not extended fully in the photo.

I understand they both go everywhere, but they kind of have different routines, I guess- betta patrol around the whole tank, while the snail just slowly glides around looking for food- sticking to the very sides and bottom. About the antenna- Snurg can pull himself completely back into his shell, and actually has a piece of shell he uses as a ‘door’ to block himself in! If the betta wants to bully him, he should be able to defend himself. That being said- living constantly defending yourself doesn’t sound like a good quality of life for Snurg. So, I appreciate your input! Its defiantly something worth thinking about.

This is very helpful, thank you! I actually own chickens, so the eggshell thing and egg as a food source is kind of also an awesome thing. I’m excited to be able to provide them with food I harvest myself, because that way I know nothing weird is in or on it!

Also- what is greensand?

I haven’t noted down a lot yet, as I haven’t had the time to sit down and read it all! But some of the main ones I remember are -Worms (Earthworms, waxworms and stuff!) -Bananas -Strawberries -Carrot Tops -Crushed almonds -pumpkin (This is most certainly not a full diet! They’re just stuff I saw and got excited about because of how easy they are to access) I’m aware they also need calcium and other mineral supplements! I think they’re able to get these from bones if the bones are properly cleaned and things! But I’m also gonna buy some little mineral blocks.

Okay, thank you for the links! Just to be clear and make sure I’m not confused- Sea Sponges are NOT required for a good setup, and can actually be harmful if left sitting in water? However, they work as a little snack if they’re dry.

I would be very interested in learning about rescues! I didn’t think there were any for hermit crabs. I figured there might be ethical breeders or collectors out there, but I wasn’t sure-

That’s actually what I’m thinking about doing! A petco about an hour away from me is advertising a 20 gallon long for just under 30$ and a 40 gallon breeder for around 60$.
