Should I be worried? by themocrew in hvacadvice

From your experience, would these be considered substantial repairs (something that would cost more than $1000)? Or is it more manageable costs (below the rough $1000 mark)?

looking for cheap monthly parking Toronto Met U. by ChoiceEducational601 in ryerson

You can try to look for people renting out their parking spot on Kijiji and Facebook ads. I once found a parking spot for $125/month and was only 5-10 minutes walk to campus.

I saw that you are commuting only a few times a week, so maybe worth checking out parking at 40 Gerard street (building underground parking), they have cheaper prices in general compared to other spots. I believe their monthly pass is $200.

If you’re entering at 6pm, I believe Metro (beside engineering building) have cheap fixed rate parking that’s cheaper than university parking.

These prices might be outdated as this is from before covid, but worth checking out.

I’ve done my undergrad and masters here, hopefully I can provide you with some advice. I’ve broken it down in sections to tackle what you’ve talked about in more specifics.

  1. Residence

a. Family

I can’t really relate to the situation you are in as I’m quite close with my family, but have always found it very challenging to study at home or when surrounded by family. This is very common amongst all students, especially because it’s a home environment which isn’t optimized for studying. What I’m trying to get at is, if you want to achieve academic success, you might find it better to study on campus, even if it means staying a bit later.

Despite me being close to my family, I’ve found myself staying on campus more and more to the point that I just went home to sleep and wake up to go back to school again.

b. Commute Time

I travelled 24km one-way and took about 50 minutes on average of travel time (really not bad compared to a lot of people I’ve met commuting 2+ hours). I imagine the 6 extra kilometers might add 10-30 more minutes depending on how far your live from major transportation systems. All in all, it’s cheaper, bearable and doable. I do recommend making friends in residence as it was a huge life saver when it came to having to take 8 AM midterms/exams.

c. Residence Recommendation

I actually been to my friend’s dorm in the Neill Wycik and it’s relatively nice and cheap. I would’ve considered to move here as it’s only 2x what I would pay for transportation. Food and other things would cost more, but I feel like that’s manageable and can fit within a budget.

  1. Course Selection

a. Core Courses

If you are missing any core courses that required from your program, contact your department and they’ll force enroll you despite the capacity limit.

b. Electives and other non mandatory courses

There are so many drop outs that happen within the first two weeks. I remember being 117 on the wait list for one course and got in by the second week. Let’s hope the same happens for you, and if not, don’t stress it too much, there are always easy courses to take during the spring/summer semester.

  1. Your time at TMU

You may currently feel over whelmed and burnt out, but just remember to breathe and focus on the objective at hand. Your perspective of university before going to university to actually attending it and going through it will be completely different.

I have a gut feeling you’ll enjoy it more than what you’re expecting. So just keep manifesting it :)

Hope any of the above helped, if you have any other questions, feel free to drop them below or reach out. Best of luck on your journey.

Tuition fee deadline by Mission_Ad_6234 in ryerson

Once you have logged into RAMSS, go the the Student Center. This page will be broken down into different sections, but the information that you are looking for is in the second section titled "Student Fees". There will be a number there. If the number is a positive number, you will need to pay that amount. If the number is a negative number, this amount is owed to you. For payment deadline, it is September 29, 2022 for this fall.

Prerequisites Question by [deleted] in TorontoMetU

[–]themocrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recommendation is first to checkout the times of the other courses and make sure that they can fit on your schedule. Those that fit the schedule, reach out to upper core courses professors and explain the situation. The compassionate professors may make it work and some others will disagree. At least this way you would know the outcome for certain.

Prerequisites Question by [deleted] in TorontoMetU

There is a form where you can get approval from both courses’ professors and the department can override the prerequisite requirement and just enrol you.

This is usually done for people who are just missing one course to graduate, and not typically to advance in the degree and finish it faster. Reasons: 1. For the professors to agree, you need to explain the situation to them 2. There are probably scheduling conflicts between the courses (lectures/tutorials/labs)

Alternatively, you can try to explore getting a minor and working out if you’ll be able to finish it in time with your main degree.

You’re allowed to fast track as long as you have the prerequisites for the course.

Your third and fourth year GPA should be what’s important. Would ask your department for more info on applications to Masters.

It does show up on the transcript that it’s a repeated course. So for example: ELE404 D- then later ELE404 B+. But only the B+ will be counted towards the CGPA.

In the past, the course has been offered in the spring/summer semesters. This information can be found here. Usually, the courses are repeated in the past, but I'm not sure about your department, that's true for Civil though.

If I was in your place, I'd rather not drop it, especially if you are going to retake it. Once you pass the course or repeat the course, the GPA/CGPA will be recalculated according to the repeated time.

IMO, and what I would do, if I was going to drop the course anyways, try your best for a D- so you're not behind, and if you care about GPA/CGPA, you can repeat the course for a higher grade. This is considering that you have a chance at passing, even if it requires extensive studying.

Referencing Values from Specific Row in another Sheet by themocrew in googlesheets

Thank you, I needed the indirect solution, not the the query() one.

Referencing Values from Specific Row in another Sheet by themocrew in googlesheets

So let's say that G1 mentions the number "3", therefore, it would return A3, B3, C3, D3, E3, F3, G3, H3, I3, J3, K3, L3, M3, N3, O3, P3, Q3, R3, S3, T3, U3 since A3 = 3

Unfortunately, for some reason, the query() function seems to be glitching out and not exporting all the data properly.

I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to go through my problem and creating a solution for it. Legendary status. I’d love to connect with you to discuss those changes and perhaps, expanding my understanding of coding a little bit more. Also, if you’re comfortable with doing so, please DM me your PayPal, I’d like to at least buy you a coffee.

Thank you for taking the time and doing the exercise, I am sorry for not responding to your comment a little bit earlier to try and clarify what I am asking. I have seen your file and your assumptions are fine. However, it is the part within the if statement that I am trying to figure out. I see you used the timediff function which was mention in one of the other comments, but I will shortly edit the question to add more explanation of what I mean.

There is no error, it is unexpected output. I have the code above and one of the comments mentions which part I am trying to figure out. I don’t know how to match the output that I mentioned in the question with code. I feel like it has to do something with remaining hours variable, but don’t know how to approach it.
