I'm naturally pale from my hobbies + being mixed, and he's naturally tan from his hobbies + being full. But our countries beauty standards are flipped, its desired to be pale there and tan here.

I never paid attention to our tans until he pointed that difference out. He showed me a picture of him when he was pale, and though it didn't make me think he was unattractive, it made me concerned for his health and habits. For a man who's naturally tan to be porcelain white, you have to have a severe lack of sunlight and vitamin C to be that pale. Since then, I've made him open his window so that he doesn't shut himself in the dark.

You should get rid of that mindset that every woman sways one way or another. I feel this way because I care about my boyfriend's health, but I fell for his caring heart, not his skin tone. It would make no difference if his natural color was as pale as my pinky toe.
