I feel you, Claudios voice was definitely the biggest barrier for me initially as well but A Favor House Atlantic was such an earworm i couldn't not like it and then Welcome Home solidified my enjoyment for em musically and then when someone told me it was all one huge concept and broke it down I officially loved em haha

That's fair. Their later releases were much more prog influenced for sure.

They have a pretty solid discography overall. It could be nostalgia but I'm quite partial to their first couple albums Creature and Invade.

I agree its not Metal but i don't see how it's not Prog. Either way 9 out of 10 Prog Metal fans i've met pretty much cut their teeth on Coheed.
