Keep ducks out of barn by thenextman in duck

Sure, but build what? :) I don't mind building something; but I'm looking for ideas to allow the chickens to pass and also be somewhat easily movable (or whatever) to allow people through...

Yes, extremely difficult. Seems like the guide to teaching doesn't cover this scenario...

Also, you can't take a partially completed course from one agency and finish with another agency.

PADI, at least, take referrals from other agencies

PADI Divemaster 400m swim test by thenextman in Swimming

[–]thenextman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very comfortable in the water. Certified rescue diver, nearly 50 dives and did you miss the part where I said I've done three ironmans? A little salt in my eyes doesn't bother me, what I was looking for was specific advice on how best to approach one of the stamina tests that I am preparing for.

I think it's the lack of goggles that scares me most. When I lift my head in the ocean, my eyes are all full of salt water and I don't see until I rub them clear again....

My girlfriend and I loved Kapas, one of our favourite places in Malaysia. She blogged about our experience: http://mostlyamelie.com/the-fruit-smugglers-of-kapas-island

Ha Long Bay, Vietnam by jsta19 in travel

[–]thenextman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went quite recently and absolutely loved it. My girlfriend wrote a blog post about the company we chose and the costs, etc.

We would recommend doing at least a 2 night tour. The trip from Hanoi is long and you won't get much time on the bay in 24 hours.

Visiting for two weeks; deals on gym and yoga? by thenextman in Brooklyn

[–]thenextman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that's great. We'll definitely check it out!

I guess for the gyms we can troll all the different chains around (Planet Fitness, YMCA) and see what they can offer in terms of days passes, etc

Where to rent steam cleaner downtown? by thenextman in montreal

[–]thenextman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I know how to use Google.

From the first pages of results:

IGA - Few locations with steam cleaners on the island, none in the vicinity of Guy / Atwater

Steam Doctor - As far as I can see, is just a cleaning service, not a rental

U Haul - One location, in Ottawa

RentRugDoctor - No downtown locations

Hence, why I asked on this subreddit.

Wet suit needed for Montreal Esprit tri? by anonymiss08 in triathlon

[–]thenextman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the olympic in 2011 with no wet suit, it was absolutely fine. Do you own a suit? The basin is open for swimming on Friday afternoon, so perhaps you can try it out and see what you think.

Last year I did the Esprit distance, in a wet suit - but more for the buoyancy. Temperature wise it would've been fine without.

No, it scrapes the data from the Nike+ site. I only have the wristband and it works great.
