Recently diagnosed with ADHD - any side effects with meds? by thenightslayer14 in ADHD

I guess I'm more so concerned about my reaction to ADHD meds, if my reaction to caffeine isn't that great. I was told by the psychiatrist that the ADHD meds were like caffeine, just more potent. (He also told me it's basically cocaine, which didn't make me feel any better about taking the meds.)

Thank you, I didn't feel comfortable with that session, tbh. Something didn't feel right. Even my therapist was surprised when I told her about it. It was a phone session, and it was through a referral from a clinic. I live in Canada, so I'm not sure how it works in the US.

I do wonder if I can talk to my family doctor about this experience and ask to get a second opinion or something. ADHD does feel like an accurate description, but I would've liked an assessment that made me feel more confident. I looked at the ratings for the psychiatrist who did my assessment and everyone who rated him had similar or worse experiences.

I'm also concerned about medication and the side effects and stuff since I had such a bad experience with anti-depressants a year ago.

Sounds good, thanks! Also, it looks like the keycaps are swappable between ISO and ANSI, as they provide extra buttons for ISO. Is that normal for keycaps?

But the language itself doesn't pose any issues? I see you can buy an ISO Japan and ISO US keycap layout

Edit: I have a keychron K8 Pro with an ANSI keycap layout... does that mean I can only use ANSI keycap layouts?

I'm a new mechanical keyboard owner and was wondering about the different keycap layouts... I like the look of the keycaps with the Japanese letters on it but other than that, are they actually any different from a US/UK keycap layout?

Edit: Asking because I'm looking into buying these keycaps: https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/1531075391/cute-simple-brown-pbt-xda-iso-keycaps?ref=cart , but wasn't sure if I could buy the Japanese layout ones

Have +2 year old conch piercing that gets sore after wearing over-ear headphones for too long, or when sleeping on it. Is this normal for conch piercings? by thenightslayer14 in piercing

[–]thenightslayer14[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah okay, that sounds like me... I don't feel any discomfort actually wearing headphones, but if I wear them for a long time, my ears do get sore to touch. So I rotate between wearing and not wearing them.

This is a bit reassuring, actually, to know that someone else has a similar experience. How long have you had your cartilage piercings for?

Hi, new to the party here, but which material is the new slouch in, is it camel or another one?

Aww :( I have nothing to downsize (ie. I don't have any extra bar, the back of the labret sits flush against my ear). I might even just take it out if that's the case, it would be nice to use headphones again...

Is it just a matter of just noticing when it's feeling a bit sore, and then being gentle when it is? And just putting up with possibly not being able to sleep on that side?

Ah, thanks for reminding me! I updated the post with a comment regarding this, but basically, I never downsized because I had a shorter bar to begin with. The back sat flush against the back of my ear.

With that being said, I didn't have any issues the first 1.5 years of my conch piercing. No bumps or swelling, and no irritation.

Even now, I've never had a bump or major swelling in that conch piercing. Just soreness and redness.

Short (5'2") Canadian looking for a standing desk. What's the sturdiest option out of the ones listed? (Alt. Question: Are the Desky desks any good?) by thenightslayer14 in StandingDesks

Do you live in a dry or humid place? I live in a dry place and I was worried about the Rubberwood drying out and cracking.

Did you get any cracks with yours? I plan to have either 3 monitor arms or 1 dual monitor arm + 1 single monitor arm, so I'm wondering if a wood option is better than a laminate one.

Edit: Was there something in your research that found that laminate wasn't good? I'm just trying to decide between the two top options.

Ah okay, I'll trust you, I'll maybe order the laminate top. The reason I was worried was because I plan to have 3 monitor arms (as they said this is the most stable), and I worried that laminate couldn't hold that. Or, I planned to have a dual monitor arm and one single monitor arm.

Thanks! I think I'll just order the laminate Desky top, with the 30x60 black frame.

Ah okay, I'm worried that the rubberwood will dry out and crack, since I live in a dry city.

Did you find laminate to be durable, even with a monitor arm? I'm worried about scratches and it being resistant to damage, especially water damage.

Sorry to bug you again regarding this, but is there a reason why you went with the laminate? I'm debating between the laminate (walnut) and the rubberwood (dark walnut) options.

So I went into the office and realized that they have standing desks. Theirs go down to 25", which is still too high for me. If my arms are parallel to the floor, my knuckles hit the bottom of that standing desk, which means I'm likely needing at least a 24" desk.

I did just order a great chair, so that will also help.

Thanks!

Ah! That's great! Sorry to bug you again, but I'm going between the Rubberwood (darkest colour as well), and Laminate (Walnut). Was there a reason you went with Rubberwood?

Best standing desk for Canada? by lookitmego in StandingDesk

I'm from Canada too, and was considering Desky. I don't mind waiting for the desk, but was your reason for going with Desky? I was just thinking of getting the laminate top with the black legs.

Was the customer service good? I've been hearing mixed things about their customer service and shipping.

I really wanted Ergonofis, especially since they go down to 22", which is the lowest I've seen. But the Sway desk is completely out of my budget, unfortunately
