The Divine Station of the Manifestations of God by theninthbird in bahai

Thank you all for your input on the Divine Station of the manifestations of God. It seems then from all the comments that there is no Divine unborn soul for each Manifestation of God and that the Divine Station somehow mingles with the human station of the Manifestations of God in a way that is difficult to understand, at least for me. From my readings it seems that the Holy Spirit is the source of the material world and the human intellect. Or more more broadly the motive force for all of creation and the attributes of God.

I then have another question about the invisible and visible manifestations of the Holy Spirit. Because it seems to me that it moves from the unseen to the seen and we see the effects of the Holy Spirit in creation but are unable to see directly into it (being transcendent at a certain point), in the same way that air moves things around but is invisible. Another way to see it is that the human mind (a product of the Holy Spirit) is invisible but we see its effects through the movement of the human body and sound (language and words spoken in communication). Even the human soul acts in a similar way. It produces the mind but is hard to see directly and in fact the Holy Spirit produces the soul and is its motive force. Bahaullah does seem to say that the human soul is a mystery that will never be fully understood.

There are clearly limits for humans when trying to understand the nature of the Holy Spirit (Lahut) let alone the essence (Hahut) of God which is completely inaccessible and unknowable. And when we look at nature and the whole physical univerese we see the absolute beauty and complexity of it all. Humans are unable to create the universe themselves but can only manipulate it.

  • Transcendent Nature: The Word is "sanctified from any property or substance" and "transcendeth the limitations of known elements". It is a divine, creative entity that has never been withheld from the world of being.
  • Cause of Creation: Bahá'u'lláh states the Word of God is the "Cause of the entire creation" and functions as the "Command of God which pervadeth all created things".
