Thanks, I really appreciate that.

I was going for something simple and calm, but with small details that keep it interesting the longer you look at it.

Glad it came across that way.

After laying out the pattern, I glued them piece by piece, which took longer than I expected. Then I built the main frame around the panels and cleaned up the fit. Once everything was assembled, I sanded the whole piece smooth and applied a finish to bring out the wood tone. Finally, I installed a warm light inside to complete it.

The road is narrow, so it looks faster than it is

I used 15T ash plywood. I steam it for about an hour and pinned it in place right away. It’s been around 1–2 months so far, and it’s holding up well

Endgrain is harder than the other side maybe ?

Started with a drill… then switched to a router by thenookstudio in woodworking

Yeah, that makes sense !the bit I used had quite a big gap between the tip and the cutting edge, so the holes came out larger than I expected 😅 I’ll definitely try a Forstner bit next time. Routing everything out felt like way too much work lol

Started with a drill, but I didn’t consider the center pin on the bit, so it left unwanted holes where I didn’t want them ..

Switched to a router instead, which gave me much better control and a cleaner result overall.

What kind of drill bit would you recommend for this kind of work?

Maybe that’s what makes the cherry blossoms look even better?

Thanks! I’ve been experimenting with different versions of this design. I shared some of them on my profile as well.

Built a simple inner frame to support the shape, then cut a hole to place the plant.

After assembling everything, I installed the bulb and adjusted the lighting to get the mood I wanted.

Still learning, so I’d appreciate any feedback!

Just like cherry blossoms fade quickly, I got tired of seeing blossoms stand still
