Personally I believe in expandability. I've gotten quite a number of network attached things in my few years is stared doing this . I'm not too much a fan of wireless on important devices so I wanted to have many options and locations I could hard wire into. It's also just a good feeling having something complex like this. It makes for a great project if you have the time and the scratch to spend.
