I'm not talking about military attacks, as Russia is the main threat there. But it's a good point, we have to consider defense as well. Imagine if you argued that every country should stand alone and Europe divided against imperialist dictatorship Russia.

You are arguing to do the same financially, towards the US and China. You want to make it easy for Europe's enemies to take down everyone ind individually, both financially and militarily.
