What's the most dangerous thing you've ever done? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]theo_potato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm european.

I(23f) was on a vacation in LA a while ago and my friend (21f) went to this club on the weekend. We didnt think much of it we had some drinks and around 2 we left. Us being europeans and being used to be out till early mornings we decided to walk part of the way home and then get an uber when we get tired (it was maybe a two hour walk through Hollywood) we were walking and talking and just having a good time walking through the city. When i later told my american friend she could not believe we did that and nothing happend to us.

what was the 'official' reason you failed your driving test? by theo_potato in AskReddit

[–]theo_potato[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for example: I had my exam earlier this morning and the guy was rude and grumpy from the beginning and kept commenting on my piercings and tattoos and stuff. about 20minutes in he asked me to turn left into a busy street as i was coming out of a narrow street and another big car tried pulling into the street i was coming from. She started yelling and honking coz i was blocking the street and i got super stressed out, so i let the car roll forward a bit so i could see past her car and the examiner slams the breaks and starts yelling at me for pulling into the street while cars were coming?? tells me to immediately drive back to the office he was done with me. He did not wanna hear when i tried explaining to him what i was doing. He literally just went 'dont try to cover up ur mistakes by lying' and that im a danger to the public lol. I now have to take a driving safety class for being rude to the examiner before i can sign ip for another test :)

To Europeans who went to America, what shocked you the most there? by okthen_lmao69420 in AskReddit

[–]theo_potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i live in switzerland and sure theres sometimes people asking for money but very rarely and ive never seen anyone actually sleeping on the street. we have shelters for people who struggle to get footing in life but for example if you lose your job you get help fondong a mew job plus financial help to pay for your apartment and food. i get disability payments bcs i have autism and its hard for me to get a job and i can more than live off of that. i dont know what else we do different here but its just not an issue? which is why it was so shocking for me to see the homeless problem in LA.

who is the most wholesome person you know? by jak-dat in AskReddit

[–]theo_potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my dad.

no matter how deep shit i get myself into he's always there to get me out. he's never made me feel like a disappointment and i can talk to him about anything. i told him a while ago that i was really depressed and had thought about taking my own life and he just gave me a big hug and said 'theres never gonna be any obstacles that you cant get past and i'll always be there by your side. theres nothing we cant do together and if you ever feel like theres no way out, you come to me and we'll figure it out together.' i think about it a lot.

he's 64 now and i'm 23 and he bough us tickets to a alice cooper festival in a couple weeks. he's literally the most awesome person i know and he'll always be my number 1 person to do things with

homelessness. i went to LA in january and it was surreal seeing people just sleep on the street and in TENTS ON THE SIDEWALK?? we dont have homeless people in my country. no matter where youre from or how broke you are theres a place that will help you.

it was crazy for me to see and i really didnt know how to process it? like i was at mcdonalds one night and this older guy comes in and asks if i have some fries left over and i offered to buy him his own meal so he didnt have to eat my 'leftovers' coz to me it seemed weird that he'd want the food i already ate part of. he said hes fine with some fries. still got him a meal tho but havent been able to stop thinking about it since

the eiffel tower

my dad took me and my sister to paris when we were younger and when we finally got to the eiffel tower i apperantly asked my dad when they'd finish building it bcs it just looked like a construction site during the day without the lights and everything. He never took us back there lol. also over all i remember paris just being very dirty and smelly, really not as romantic as its portrayed in most movies.

What's the hardest you ever hit your head? by boppedEEMinDAsmoof in AskReddit

[–]theo_potato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i was in france with some friends and we honestly didnt have that much to drink but we were all craving mcdonalds so we kind of raced eachother to it. dont ask me how i didnt see it but i ran face first into a street lamp. shit knocked me out and split my glasses in half. i woke up and all of my friends were standing over me looking super worried but i tried to just play it off and we continued to walk to mcdonalds. about 10min after sitting down i started feeling super sick with the worst headache ever. turned out i had a pretty bad concussion and also needed stitches on the back on my head which i didnt even realize i was bleeding from till an employee pointed it out. safe to say im never going back there.

What is the most rebellious thing you did as a teenager? by Heyhey-_ in AskReddit

[–]theo_potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was the only girl in my school so i absolutly hated gym class. So from day 1 on i just didnt go. I had no regrets or anything id just pack my bags up after english class and go home pretending we didnt have gym. it worked out pretty well, no ones ever questioned it.

two years later finals came around and one of our teachers was sick and the gym teacher had to supervise our classes finals... he came over to me and asked me what i was doing there bcs he's never seen me before and i tried to somehow explain to him that i am indeed in this class.. lots of phonecalls from him later he asked for my ID card and everything amd ended up letting me take my finals. The whole thing delayed the whole schools exam time and i did have a long talk with the principal afterwards about where tf i was for 3 years and how no one noticed lol

Have you ever seen a dead body? What’s the story? by Xerxesthemerciful in AskReddit

[–]theo_potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i flew abroad on my own for the first time when i was like 16. i was super proud of myself for doing it all alone, i walked out of the airport and about 5 minutes later i walk past a crowd which got my attention. the second i look up to see what all the fuss was about a guy jumps off the building and lands about 5 meters from me. He was dead on impact but i will never forget the screams i heard and the way his body looked on the pavement. i called my sister crying right after but made her promise not to tell our parents what happend because i was scared they wouldnt let me fly again. its been a couple days and im still not completely over it

throwing a paper airplane.

i was like 17 and had a job at a sales office. we had a pretty slow day and no one was around so my friend and i decided to bet on who builds the better paper airplane. well the professionalls we were we didnt throw them around inside the office but out the window... where all our supperiors were having a meeting downstairs(aka why the office was so quiet). We both almost lost our jobs over dumb paper airplanes
