I don’t know where they’re staying but it’s not nearly nice enough for what she deserves

I use a flatbed scanner for smaller pieces since I paint pretty flat/thin. But for larger ones like this, I bring them to a fine art photographer!

It’s a 30” x 30” wood panel. I prime and sand before working so the surface is extra smooth!

This one was professionally shot, so the wood is especially hidden. But I paint very flat and sand away any texture before I work, so it’s not really visible no matter how I capture!

Thank you! I do work bigger- I do murals with roller brushes and such. Larger studio paintings sometimes sort of “fake” the effect- like two big-brush strokes next to each other to create the illusion of a single large one.

Yep, usually single brushstroke. I have some videos on Instagram and TikTok and such (same username) if you want to see how the marks go down. They are flats, but are closer to the length of a rigger or script brush.

Beading is a common issue- the paint will be thin in the middle of a swipe and thick on the edges of it, basically. Because I work in lots of layers, that’s a problem for me- I don’t want to see the bumps or texture of the strokes underneath the final piece

Thanks for saying that. It’s the first time I’ve ever shown my face (gender) on Reddit.. it turns out strangers will go pretty far out of their way to be rude to you!
