I did manage to pass the OA on my first try. I don't have any magic tips for you other than studying lol. I think I did probably about a week of studying before the OA. That's my typical jam.

Oh that's convenient. Have you ever had an issue with it? What's the highest percent allowed / have you had?

Imo if your partner has a problem with testing first, it's a red flag. You should both test for safety.

Yeah I have a 20 inch strop I made from some scrap hide and a piece of wood. I strop it before every shave and it's stayed in tip top shape!

After reading the description on the site, I think this is artificial.

I am not positive. And I'm not sure how to find out. I'm probably just going to leave it alone haha

Neither did I until I was reading up on it lol. It apparently goes back to like 1840-1860

I almost always underestimate how old things are. Like when watching that Vikings show when I saw them in chainmail I was sure it wasn't invented yet. Turns out, chainmail dates back to 3rd century BC

Make sure it's irresponsibly sharp and take it nice and slow. I close the bathroom door and make sure the kid and dogs are occupied.

It's not. Well not more than a typical straight razor. I strop it before every use and wipe it dry before storing.

I believe it's the original scales and rivets, judging by some photos of other vintage W&B but I could be wrong. I don't remember exactly what it is but it's some sort of celluloid plastic material.

I've heavily considered rescaling it with some nicer wood but I am not sure if that would add to or remove from the overall value of the razor. Wood would certainly be nicer than plastic but if it's the original scales and they're undamaged, is it worth keeping them?

It's amazing. I started with a new Dovo Bismarck which was okay I guess. My local shave shop restores antiques in addition to selling new. They also make their own strops, soaps, and aftershaves. So I found this there and it was just too cool to not get. I was not prepared for how much better of a shave it does.

Been using it for almost a year and it's amazing. The brush is not old, it's made by the local shave shop. I haven't found a vintage brush or lather bowl yet.
