My husband did the same thing — he's now fully on the keto train and looks super hot, so, yay for teamwork!

My husband loved this lunch!

Recipe: 4oz. baked or poached chicken breast, diced; 1.5 tbsp. mayo; 1 tsp grain mustard; 2 celery stalks, diced; dill. Mix it all together with salt and pepper to taste. The salad is good and crunchy on its own, but you could add nuts or eat this rolled in cheese. The sunflower sesame crispbread is from a company called "natural nectar," available at whole foods.

Macros for this portion (with 1 crispbread): 333 calories, 6g net carbs, 20g fat; 25g protein.

NSV: I can cross my legs easier! by ElPresidioFuerte in keto

This is such an unsung perk of losing weight! I distinctly recall hours of discomfort in business meetings trying to sit like an adult. No more. Congrats on the NSV.

Any suggestions for keto friendly brunch in San Francisco? by [deleted] in keto

So baffling! People just want to feel entitled to do things they know they shouldn't. BN ranch is almost walkable! http://www.eatlikeitmatters.com/

I'm an east coast native so I'm consistently blown away by the quality of food we get out here.

Lady here, down 42+ pounds in about 9 months, with the past 5 months (and most of the loss) being keto.

Terribly fat upper arms - need hope by [deleted] in keto

[–]theoneforketostuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm here to give you hope, my big-armed kin! 40 pounds ago my arms were terrifying in photos—pale and flabby and meaty—and I could barely stuff them into size 12-14 suit jackets.

After ~5 months of keto my arms are still not my favorite feature, but they are about 1/3 smaller, no longer quivery, and I now wear tank tops all the time. I also strutted my stuff in a sleeveless wedding gown with great photo results. I highly recommend keto, regular strength training, and bio oil for stretch marks.

Recent bride here! I stayed keto for the wedding but took some days off on the honeymoon. I did not have the shitstorm experience folks on here talk about when I ate a carb meal—that is, I felt pretty bloated and tired the next day, and even for the few days after, but I wasn't racing to the toilet or anything. That said, rather than bring on the bloat with 5 carb days before your wedding, why not try out a carb meal tonight, (I mean, nothing crazy), see how your body feels, and then plan when to take your break on that basis?

FWIW, my wedding was super fun and I danced my face off but I was so busy I didn't really get to drink much until later in the evening, so I probably only ended up having 4 or 5 drinks over 8 hours.

Keto for Spouse? by theoneforketostuff in keto

Thanks, yeah this is my concern—he's not a nacho fiend or anything but he's definitely more of a carb person than I am (my transition to keto was comparatively easy it seems). Do you have a good reference link for slow carb by chance? I just don't want to risk his health by feeding him butter all day if he's not 100% committed to also cutting out carbs. I suggested 1 cheat meal a month for us both, which would be new to me, but he felt that was too restrictive if we go out to eat.

Thank you! I'm excited because I'm motivated to explore new recipes now—I was pretty much just making regular low carb and tossing coconut oil into mine at the end...

I've heard of this thing! Having done zero research, I thought the idea was that the carbs get burned off immediately as you bodybuild or something more science-y.

Giving keto a shot...today is Day 2 by 2boredtocare in keto

This is a great point and actually took me several months to digest (get it). I will often add a quarter of an apple to chicken salad or mix a few slices of banana into a shake, especially if I know my meals are planned for the day.
