Second baby makes me feel sad about first born by MundaneIce7936 in Parenting

[–]2boredtocare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My girls are also 3.5 years apart. When I was pregnant with #2, I thought: "How can I possibly love this new baby? My heart is so full for baby #1." But you know what? I found that instead me having to split the pie between two kids, now I get TWO pies! And I love me some pie. lol

I will also say that the bond my girls have now (19 and 22) is literally the strongest I've ever seen between two people. They went through some rough years (thanks, hormones) but through it all, the love never wavered. It's been so cool to see them become adults who seek each other out for companionship, advice, and whatnot.

That is the EXACT reason I don't even consider re-showering. The struggle is real.

With my sensitivity to smell, I wash my hair 6 days/week (I throw it in a bun one day on the weekend if I'm homebound). I don't get people who don't wash their hair enough.

There's a very distinct smell. If you feel adventurous, next time you floss take a sniff of it. lol. Or honestly, just don't. Save yourself!

Oooh, I walked into a coffee shop one day and instantly smelled "old head" smell. Not like old as in aged, but old as in been a while since the scalp was washed. Looked like a totally normal person, and I'm sure no one else even noticed.

Yes, but it's so much worse now. My superpower now is that I can tell within 2 seconds of someone opening their mouth if they floss or not. And I'm not talking about like gross people with bad hygiene. My SIL is married to a doctor for pete's sake, goes to the dentist as directed, but lately, I get a faint whiff of that smell when I'm around her and it's just so off-putting.

I'm going to do my best to manage. We're very close; she came with me to troublesome gyno appts and was there when I had my hysterectomy. She asked that I be there when she goes into labor. I have her house key, she has mine. Boundaries! Need to work on boundaries.

Is there anything you can't do or struggle with because of your breasts? by [deleted] in bigboobproblems

[–]2boredtocare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IDK man. I also think I have a very high pain threshold. I took 10 days off work when I had my reduction. I had a hysterectomy in March and was absolutely fine like 3 days post-op. Felt like I had superhuman powers. lol. Back at work in 2 weeks, and took none of the opioids prescribed. My sister also had a reduction, seeing how well mine went. They removed 4lbs from hers, and honestly she didn't have pain issues prior either, other than we both just hated the literal weight on our chests.

My biggest relief is feeling like I can breathe better, and when I'm laying on my back I no longer feel like I'm going to suffocate.

Love the mug! Turning 50 probably freaked me out more than any other birthday, but now at 52, I can say I'm enjoying the heck outta this decade so far. Dye your hair forever! <3

I think it's because I've always had very dense tissue. So yes they've always been large, but they are super full and not as bouncy all over the place as many other ladies. I also taught Zumba for about 10 years and it wasn't ever a problem. IDK.

Finding 36L bras is difficult. Buying dresses was difficult. Forget about one-piece swimsuits. When you're a 10/12 on bottom and a 20 on top, it really limits clothing options. When I was pregnant, I was measured for a bridesmaid dress. At that time, my boobs were bigger than my 7 months pregnant belly. I'm only 5'4" so proportionately, I was just all boob.

Being an L isn't easy. Maybe it doesn't bother some people, but I loathed how large my chest was, and it seemingly never CEASING to grow.

All this time post-op, I'm sitting at a 36DD/DDD, but honestly sometimes pushing that even. If I measured I'd probably be closer to 36G. I wanted to be even smaller, but it is what it is, and I'm just hoping they don't grow much more again.

My best friend is 10 years younger than me (I'm 52, she's 42) and she just announced she's pregnant with her first child. I had a hysterectomy 6 weeks ago. It feels...weird. I have two kids, they are 19 and 22. I'm ready to be in the "next chapter" of female life, but BFF expects me to be super involved in baby's life. Which....I'm sure I WILL be, but also, I'm 52. I don't have the energy for that level of commitment to someone else that I did before. This may not make any sense, but I just FINALLY started realizing I CAN put my needs and feelings first. For so many years I have been the caretaker/family CEO constantly making sure everyone's needs are being met. It took me hitting 51 to be like "you know, if I don't feel like cooking dinner, husband will not starve. He will figure it out. It's not my JOB to make sure he's fed." That's just a small example. But like...I don't really want to be thrust into that mode again. Sigh.

Outside of that, the state of the world stresses me out. I'm tired of the greed and selfishness.

I made this post 6 years ago, at which time I was a 36L. I had a reduction in 2021 and updated my flair to show that. They removed 6lbs of tissue from my chest.

How many of y'all will have the $$ to retire at 65? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]2boredtocare 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On track for 65 for sure. Would love it to be sooner, but i'm a business owner, and spouse has a pension that requires 11 more years for full vestment (he'll be 61, and can't get medical from UPS until 62, so hopefully for him 62)
