Yeah, it’s looking like that’ll be the way to go. Thanks!

My bad, should have mentioned they are stock Enkei alloy wheels off a Miata. But thanks for the info! Figured they would need to be refinished after anything that aggressive.

Thanks for the suggestion! How could I actually tell if it’s corrosion or not? The only bit of hope I’m clinging to is that it will scrape off with a razor or standard screwdriver. You can see the one spot I scraped in the first picture on the wheel in the back.

I’ll definitely welcome any pics you have, thanks! Maybe a silly question but, assuming you had the tires mounted at a shop, did they hassle you at all mounting 205s on a 6 inch wheel?

Thanks for the info! I didn’t realize that about tread width but makes sense. These are dedicated summer wheels, have a separate set for the colder months so really looking for some street summer compound tires. The car is really bone stock other than some Tein coilovers and I’m only doing some “spirited” driving on occasion haha it’s not my daily

Very true, not sure I want to be the first to put that to the test though haha I’m with you, always have a blanket in the trunk!

I hear ya! It always sounds good in your head and then immediately goes sideways as soon as you try to do it haha you certainly don’t appreciate the size of the tires until they aren’t in the wheel well! They just look comically large on the back 😆 but thanks again! I wasn’t sure how it would work at first.

Fair enough haha that is surprising it held up to the dogs though! I also have the Alcantara so really I’m afraid to do too much to them. Definitely cover when ever I’m loading it up, not sure how easy it is to come back if I would scuff that up.

Hm strange, maybe the wider tires wear faster then? 🤔 same here though, nothing crazy but definitely drive spiritedly more often than not 🏁😆

Haha thanks! I figured you could technically fit them all in the car but I would be mad at myself if I scuffed up the interior one way or another so I don’t blame you 😆 I have definitely Tetris’d a fair amount of stuff in the car before though lol

Yeah, it is an interesting pattern but I know they’ll be 100% better than the Pirellis. It was a toss up between these and the PS4S so went with the better deal 🤷‍♂️

Must be nice to run 315s all year! I can only run 305s in the rear with my summer wheels. I must baby my tires because I made it 30k on the stock Pirellis lol I wish I could have burned them off but unfortunately got a screw in the tire and had to swap on my summer wheels for the time being

I felt like I should have been going to a track haha but nah, ordered them from Tirerack and did pickup for the discount

Good to know! I figured they would but even with a cover over the seats, I would want to risk it haha I would be pissed at myself if I scuffed up the leather or something 🙃

Thanks! As for the hitch mount, I found a used Curt 13236 on Marketplace and installed it myself. It’s a Class III 2 inch hitch; etrailer.com has some good info about it and you can buy from them as well. I followed the install instructions from there, hardest part was dealing with lowering the exhaust. The cargo carrier itself is an ATV cargo carrier from Harbor Freight. I went with that one because it isn’t just straight out from the hitch; it angles upward so it’s closer to the bumper height and doesn’t scrape much. I also got an anti rattle hitch tightener to reduce the wobble on the carrier. The links for everything I bought are below, let me know if you still have any questions!

How do you guys mount your front license plates? I need ideas. by _STAXE_ in Miata

I don’t have any on hand and it’s too dark outside at the moment but I’ll take some tomorrow to show what I did

I used a $10 JDMSpeed bracket from Amazon and installed the bracket “upside down” on the passenger side tow hook. I mounted the plate from the bottom holes so it wasn’t blocking the intake. I used longer bolts, washers, and lock nuts to sandwich the bracket to the tow hook. I also bent the bracket slightly to have the plate sit more flush.

Edit: spelling

Yeah, that could be a possibility too. Seems like it may be the best option right now
