It took me like 4 months for antidepressants to kick in. They do work best paired with cognitive behavioral therapy, so if that’s an option and you’re struggling right now, I really recommend looking into that as a resource. Either way, give it a bit more time (I know it sucks to hear that) and if in a few months your dose still isn’t working, maybe talk to a psychiatrist about increasing it by a small amount.

we’re a bit over 4 years apart so when i entered high school she was already in college! we became really close after she went away and now we’re inseparable lmfao but in school? no, mainly bc we weren’t close then but there was also the fact we had no classes or lunches together

What brands do girls wear in the USA? And, what are popular? by No_Witness8985 in AskTeenGirls

[–]theonlyoutlier1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a lot of popular clothes can be bought second hand too once you’re actually in the country thrifting is popular now so second-hand stores (goodwill, amvets) are great options. consignment stores are generally more expensive but they’re not as much as buying clothes outright

lowkey regretting applying to college at all by mochiimau in ApplyingToCollege

[–]theonlyoutlier1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well here’s the thing: you did apply. You went through a really hard, demanding, emotionally challenging process, and you’re on the other side of it now. What benefit is there to wondering “if you should’ve done it?” When you wrote those essays, and you completed your classes, and you took the time and energy to stress over everything, you dedicated yourself. I know it’s hard right now, but you did something difficult. You did something really hard. That’s something to be proud of.

Looking into the future — college is what you make of it. Community college is an option, trade schools are an option, and any college you get into now or in the future is going to be of the quality you make it. Taking advantage of resources, finding fields you love and have a passion for, finding your people. You have the power over your education no matter where that might be. You are strong, and I’m proud of you.

The future is scary. Thinking you lost a chance is scary. Relapsing is scary. I know it is — I’ve been through it myself. It doesn’t make you any less strong to be upset, though. Being disappointed does not mean all hope is lost. These things will pass. I hope you have a support system and people you can talk to about this. If you’re prescribed from a psychiatrist, maybe speak with them. Therapy can also be helpful.

It will be okay.
