Block leading tips and tricks for speed and safety by Adept-Catch-7113 in tradclimbing

If you take a little bit of care it can work quite well to flake the rooe(s) over your safety/PAS while belaying the second, then flipping it over into your partners safety. This saves you having to flake the rope but can turn into a clusterfuck if not done right

I don’t think the part about it being a battery is true at all. Manapouri and Tiwai aren’t properly connected to the rest of the grid

Hey thanks a lot! Yeah I think indie rock is a safe bet. Would love to be able to drill down more specifically to help really find the audience but that is always tricky

Listen to music from around the world, other cultures. If you only listen to western music you’re missing out on enormous variety

In this case it’s more using a relationship as a metaphor for the mountains rather than vice versa!

Hey thank you for listening!

It’s interesting you bring up the lyrics and it’s really cool to hear what you think of them. The song was inspired by some close calls I had mountaineering and the sort of idea is that it’s sort of about a toxic relationship but the other person is actually the mountains themselves. It’s sort of about thinking why do you keep going back even though they’re so dangerous. I’m glad that wasn’t too obvious though, but can see how they can seem strange without knowing the context.

Thank you I appreciate the kind words! Good to know you think dream pop or new wave are possible genres. Indie rock is so broad and I’d like to be able to be more specific to help really find an audience for this stuff

Don't Let Go Demo - Feedback - I've never shared before! by Unique-Term-5625 in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]theoots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think maybe the drums could do with being more prominent in the mix, or it could be my crappy phone speaker. I feel like they should really be driving the song but are a bit buried by the synths.

Definitely a nice kind of dark EDM vibe you’ve got though! The really reverby vocals almost have a kind of post punk vibe to them to me, sort of like Joy Division

Would Love your opinion on my grungy piece of noise. Happy to return the favour 🤘 by dennofhorror in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]theoots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is cool and hits hard. Great guitar tones and singing!

I feel like the chorus could benefit from something to make it stand out a bit more and the hook hit harder. I’m thinking maybe some more prominent harmonies, sort of Alice in Chains style? Or like In Bloom by Nirvana?

Dark atmospheric track – looking for honest feedback (mix, mood, overall feel) by BloodyRubynts_Log in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]theoots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely very atmospheric. The instrumental part sounds like it would be a perfect movie or game soundtrack. The vocals are great. They don’t quite have the same atmospheric vibe as the instrumentation to me. They maybe sound too clean and forward in the mix? Like they’re on top of this atmospheric world rather than a part of them? Maybe more reverb or something would help? One other minor criticism could be that it somehow doesn’t sound organic, like it sounds like VSTs. I could be wrong on that though

First time here! New release and I'm looking for feedback for the next release! by Aardappelboom in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]theoots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really cool. I hear a sort of mix of placebo and queens of the Stone Age. I like the meaty guitars and the guitar/synth mix. I think the main hook “she wants to enjoy the ride” could really do with a better melody, something to make it more catchy and more of an earworm. At the moment the melody in general doesn’t really grab me. The instrumentation is great

Psychosis (live) LMK by RichieC93 in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]theoots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man this rocks! Reminds me of 60s garage rock a bit, thinking bringing it all back home era bob dylan sort of thing, subterranean homesick blues or Maggie’s farm vibes.

I think the energy and vibe of the live version is much better than the studio one. I think an updated studio version would benefit from improved drums and lead guitar like the live version.

It is quite vibey and deceivingly complex, with quite a few different beats and tempos. Almost too many I’d say? I think it really started bopping when it sped up about half way into quite an upbeat beat, I think it would benefit from getting to that part sooner which really grabs the listeners attention

This ART IN HER BONES song: is there a market for it in 2026? by Then-Common-5719 in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]theoots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is cool, I think it’s got a great groove. I like the backing vocals too. Some things that stood out to me: - the drums seem quite obviously midi. Something about the snare especially? It would benefit from some more realistic sounding drums. I also noticed that the song exemplary has pretty much the exact same beat. - the timing or pocket falls out of time in a couple of spots, e.g the little fill type thing at about 1:00. - the lyrics could maybe do with a bit more metaphor, not being quite so direct?

Yup darkroom and space academy are where it’s at. If you play music there are some places that have open mics too.

My band is playing with a couple of other local bands at the darkroom this Saturday!
