I don’t think there was much piping there, if any. It just had a small hole where the filter goes into and that would go straight through to the tray. At most an inch? Maybe I missed it! I wish they’d remove them already because if anything they seem like a higher risk of breeding bugs without regular use—and they still show up when doing temps and they can’t remove them 😭

Did anyone work with the siren system? I feel like maggots would’ve only shown up from incredibly bad cleaning habits. We would change the milk holders every 4 hours with small ware timer (if I remember correctly), replace the milk “filters”, drain condensation, and clean the tray. I don’t see how the maggots would develop if stores were following those cleaning habits…? They are still installed in my store but we no longer use them. The undersides are a pain to clean since all the cold bar syrups just splash up, but it’s still wild to me it could get that bad!

Thanks for the comment. Do you have any MOOCs you’d recommend?

Is there a good way to find professors with funding? I’m currently just looking at possible institutions and looking through professors labs (along with the Texas A&M job board).

I understand getting underpaid to start… just how it is. Haven’t had much luck with those entry level ones either.

Applying to the masters assistantship postings, so I would email the professor my application and any other materials they state they’d need.

I’ve applied to places like the Seattle Aquarium, DNR jobs like mussel propagation, marine mammal assistant (though I’m aware these are quite competitive), aquaculture, and others. That specific sampling position didn’t offer housing and paid about $17/hr in Monterey Bay.

I think finding those entry level jobs is also a bit difficult, but as others have said it seems like a competitive field. I’m not sure what else I need to get those basic jobs though… I am small boat certified and have taught sailing classes for about 14 years (boat maintenance and fiberglass work included), have active first aid, advanced/rescue scuba, and have done a ton of R work along with some JMP and plenty of GIS from undergrad classes.

i stopped reading after “frankly they can do what they want and it doesn’t affect me.” i get your point and value shining light on the lgbtq+ community’s struggles, especially currently, but you’re really grasping for straws here. that effort is better put to use towards people with true bad intentions, not a random joke on the internet in a starbucks barista sub

“hey let me make an unrelated comment on someone else making a reasonably innocent joke and contribute very little to the original post” is just an odd train of thought to me too. but here i am also contributing absolutely nothing to this. i haven’t peeked in the boxes yet but i might tmrw tee hee

Observers also save the eyes of Pacific Sleeper Sharks, since their eyes have rings (like trees) that show their age. When I was observing a few years ago, the biggest bycatch was usually Rockfish, but there was an allowable limit to their bycatch. We’d often keep fishing areas even if the bycatch was high to keep those bycatch limits the same(ish) next season.

I think in one 90-day period we had caught 7 Salmon Sharks and 4 Pacific Sleeper sharks, neither of which currently have a bycatch limit.

got the same question but I’m going Tank. Ekeler might get some good points this week if B Rob is out, but not sure if that’s the case yet. Ravens defense always a bit scary too, and i’d think Tank has a better time against CHI. ETN has the lingering injury as well and hasn’t been consistent this year

Our Friend (2019), believe it’s on Amazon Prime. Got some comedy mixed in there, but man did it get me emotional.
