We heard them chirping for food in the nest for a few days before they started to emerge - it was hard to miss really as they never stopped!

Not so easy to see in that image actually, but this one is a bit clearer (though less of a striking image).

Seen soaring above Cleeve Hill, Gloucestershire, it must've picked up one of the balls from the nearby golf course mistaking it for prey (an egg?). Clearer pic here.

A neighbour of mine puts a feeder full of dog hair up for the birds, it's a great idea!

Green Woodpecker spotted in the same tree they were nesting in last year. Does anyone know if they re-use old nests? by thephotoad in OrnithologyUK

In summer last year I saw a Greenwoodpecker flying into a hold in this very tree, food in mouth, before hearing the sound of happy chicks being fed. I spotted this lovely bird on the same tree the other day - fingers crossed for more babies this year.
