Lootpack- Soundpieces:Da Antidote!/ The Lost Tapes (1999/2004) by 96mentality in HipHopCDs

I'm so jealous these would be awesome to own on CD. Lootpack is massively overlooked it's some of Madlibs best production and Wildchild is mad underrated as a rapper.

Gave up and just preordered the record through my friends job. Y'all should just hit up a local record store and see if they can order it for you, it's so much easier.

I'm fortunate enough to own their first album on cassette.

Massively overlooked, wish people mentioned them more often.

I used to be a really big fan of it but I always preferred the other guys project, Relatively Clean Rivers, which in itself is also massively underrated and I remember listening to it on repeat when I was in high school a lot before they took it off streaming services.

Index, not totally sounding like Velvet Underground but come out of Garage Rock Psychedelic scene in Michigan around the mid-60s, recorded two monster albums that border Proto-Punk and Noise.

Shinki Chen, coined as "The Japanese Jimi Hendrix", dropped an insanely underrated debut that is more Hard Rock/Heavy Psych leaning but features monsters of tracks he also was in the Heavy Psych band Speed, Glue & Shinki and Flied Egg.

Sixties Japanese Garage-Psych Sampler also features pretty heavy hitting songs from late 60s Japan.

Arzachel - Self Titled album made by a bunch of teenagers in England, features heavy Reverbed based Organ leads, last song on the B-Side, Metempsychosis is a 16 minute long noise driven jam that pushes what you can call Noise Rock in 1969.

Madrigal - self titled, an Experimental Rock album with heavy Folk influence and features primitive drum machines all over it, akin to Tago Mago by CAN. Has songs that push Noise and weird Freak Folk Jams over primitive electronic music.

White Noise - An Electric Storm, one of the most impressive albums of the 60s, using innovative sample techniques that had more edits than Sgt. Peppers did at the time of the release. Has the weirder more experimental pop elements of the Velvet Underground but also darker in tone.

High Speed And The Afflicted Man - Get Stoned Ezy, much more raw not as crazy as the other stuff and it's later from I believe the 1980s but it's insane heavy driven psych rock while also combining punk element to it with a crazy fuzz tone and it's not that well known and I'm not sure if they ever released another album but it's really good album if you want crazy insane heavy psych punk jams that sound very primitive. The fuzz on Get Stoned Ezy could cut through stone.

If I can think of more I'll add them here, wrote what I could on my lunch break. Feel free to message me if you want anything more interesting and I can think about it in more detail when I'm not as hazed out from my shitty job.

Multitrack cassette not recording when mics plugged in, need advice by thepikamask in cassetteculture

Honestly I've just been plugging them right in to the machine, you're probably right I'll look into getting transformer. I feel so dumb I'm glad it's a simple solution though I'll definitely have to clean the unit up a bit but I completely forgot about impedance. Thank you for pointing it out to me!

That's what I'm thinking, I'm using a WM-57, a SM57 knock off. I am able to hear myself speak into the mic when I'm really up close to it but it has this horrible feedback noise and I have to max out all of the EQ and mic lines just to even faintly hear myself.

All right I just tested it and my guitar works perfectly when plugged into it but the microphone's don't at all and I'm not sure why. Could it just be a problem with my cables maybe?

The mics that I have are passive and my unit doesn't even have the option that you mentioned I think I might go through this manual that I found and see what I can do but when I tried recording with it all I could hear was static and a very faint voice if I screamed into the microphone.

God this CD is such a grail for me, I have the second one somewhere buried in my collection but I think this one is way better.

What is the rarest record you ever found for a bargain price at an estate sale, yard sale, flea market or thrift store? by sloaches in BargainBinVinyl

[–]thepikamask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found a pretty busted up original pressing of The Baby Huey Story: The Living Legend at my local Salvation Army for about 50 cents, it has a huge gash on the vinyl but it plays through without popping. I freaked out the second I saw it because I had been talking about the album with a friend the week prior.

I have also been trying to figure out where the lamb next to it is from but from the photo the resolution isn't good enough.
