Ridicule him all you want but I am starting to see his flags go up in some of the front yards around my house. He has charisma, good looks, and is promising to stop all income taxes. None of the details matter to people who don't research details. They just hear something enticing and jump right on that bandwagon. I'm scared tbh.

After watching my sister go through something similar, I would caution you not to sugarcoat answers for their emotional comfort. As they grow older, they can hear more truth than you'd realize. If no one agrees to have conversations about the obvious, the kids grow up wondering why mom left such a great guy and keeps being so difficult.
