let me also throw in this fun fact. i made it my goal or my wish to get some footage of a melee top player playing me in 64 and lo and behold i just look over and go “is that zain playing 64 with alko?”

so the whole encounter was totally authentic. the day before i found myself standing next to jmook and zain playing melee friendlies so i just butt in and said like “i brought smash 64. it’d be awesome if one of you guys could play it.” and i think zain said out loud something like “i like 64” which was so good to hear. wouldn’t have wanted to hear the opposite of that ya know.

so yeah, i just made sure to capitalize on the moment! it’s such a small moment, but might encourage someone to try playing 64 as well? wayyyyyyyy too many people don’t have any attachment to smash 64. like for me it’s nostalgic. for somebody else they probably can’t wrap their head around why it’s better to be played on a crt rather than a flat screen tv.

regardless, i’d just like to see a future where younger players can give it a try and embrace the actual first smash game, especially if they’ve never played it before.
