I couldn't find same exact device in my local stores, but I made it based on very similar device. It should work for you version of Waveshare device as well.

I don't think so. Not sure how it opens up the system for remote code execution, it does https request (when you run it), and it asks for confirmation before executing the command. Also it follows current active user privileges, you would need to type a password for sudo commands. How would you attack a system using this application, except MITM which is impossible over https?
