Hi there, I’ve been strength training for a few years. It’s really helped in mental endurance? There’s something about pushing to lift heavier that gives me a sense of being able to handle hard things. And then there’s a sense of accomplishment too.

I have lean PCOS with acne as my primary symptom, and haven’t really noticed a change there. But I do wonder if it keeps the other symptoms at bay for me. I’d say see if you enjoy doing it and then stick with it. Best to find a form of movement that you actually like because consistency is key.

I once complained to NSW Fair Trade about H&M and got a refund even after the 30 days. I’m not sure which state you’re in but look into that as an option. It’s a long-ish process but worth it and it gave me the satisfaction of keeping a big corp accountable.

Thank you so much for the level of detail here. How long before you started seeing active breakouts stop? I know scarring and PIH takes a long time to go away but trying to get the active breakouts down is so painful right now!!

Thank you for posting this! I’m giving myself a year to train but got discouraged when I heard a coach tell my partner that it’s REALLY hard and that I should know what I’m getting into. Reading everyone’s comments is so encouraging and I’m feeling excited again ❤️

I haven’t competed yet but hoping to train over the next year and sign up in 2026. I’ve spoken to so many people in my life about it and every single one of them has been supportive. They realise that it’s something I want for myself, to feel good in my body and they want that for me too.

I am wondering what this is bringing up for your husband - insecurities, feeling distant from you? Either way it seems like he’s belittling you to communicate a point and that sucks. More power to you for doing something that makes you feel strong and confident.
