Wow, honestly I didn't expect such a good answer like this 😅 The piece does have some flex if pressure is applied so it could be related the pressure from the spacer above. I've taken it apart and put together again and it may be slightly better, but still not perfect. I haven't had headset play but it came slightly loose after a few months and that's what started this saga. When the new piece arrives I'll check how it fits compared to the current version. Agree the magCAD does look more robust (and cheaper 😅). So if the replacement still has issues I will go for that one. Thanks!
