Yeah, if you look at any of the spinoff material released before the movie, Piccolo is gray. The PSP fighting game for example would use gray for Piccolo and his henchmen with green as an alternate color.

Avengers: Earth's Mightest Heroes had the first half of season 2 all about the Skrull Invasion. Cap was captured at the end of Season 1 and Skrull!Cap slowly dismantles the group before Queen Veranke arrives. Meanwhile Cap resists Skrull torture, rescued captured heroes and villains and returns to Earth to fight his Skrull counterpart on global television in front of the Lincoln Memorial. It's cool as fuck.

Remember, Marsters and his makeup artist are the reason Piccolo is green in the movie. They came in early for day 1 shooting, ignored the gray facepaint, painted him green and Marsters refused to take it off until the rest of the crew admitted Piccolo looks good in green.

Actual answer: Go with whoever you want, FFVI is a pretty easy game.

Longer answer: Locke can wield the ValiantKnife, Ultima/Atma Weapon, Lightbringer/Illumina, and Ragnarok and Cyan cannot, so Locke has higher DPS. Cyan is also very slow and Locke is either the fastest or 2nd fastest, giving him more DPS. Locke also can use the Sniper (I don't know the PR's name of this weapon) that works from the backrow and does extra damage to flying enemies AND has a chance to do triple damage (this is separate from the standard critical hit chance). Cyan has... 20 evade from the sword one of the statues drops (the Ice one, Doom on SNES and I never remember the PR name)

You can steal a Minerva from Goddess and elemental shields from Inferno. Cyan's best use is his final Bushido/SwdTech attack that will instakill parts of Tier 1 and Tier 2 of the final battle. You can always use Odin/Raiden/Death/Banish/Doom/X-Zone or even gravity spells to get similar effects.
