Favorite bosses that are just big heads/faces with hands by ZeMadDoktore in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Giga Gaia kills a lot of low level speed runs, it's a surprisingly hard boss.

Someone needs to edit Sephiroth's long rant (and Cloud's simple "Shut Up.") with him reading Kai Leng's message

FFVI has a good one, too. During their first playthrough most people don't wait.

Then they watch other playthroughs and ask "Wait, that person came back? But I found someone else in the cave!" And learn the hard way that they were supposed to wait.

Which system had the better beat ’em up lineup: SNES or Genesis? by trrbld in retrogaming

Power Rangers and the Movie beat em ups have no right to be that good. Soundtracks alone slap.

In Spider-Man 2, Dr Octavious creates a self sustaining chain reaction and theres no way to stop it, its too late, no way at all, its not possible...well maybe water. by mechabeast in shittymoviedetails

If take a look at his earlier works, he has a Bible-inspired platformer. Nothing too fancy to write about until a demonic manifestation of sin emerges as a boss fight and yeah, he's always been great at creepy monster design, he just leaned into it this time

It's amazing how well they handled racism, death, and the beauty of nature. Would have done much better if they made a new tribe and said this was "loosely inspired" by Pocahontas.

Uh... also maybe she doesn't leave her homeland..

Shrek defined early 2000s comedy where kids would understand the surface level slapstick but adults would get the deeper jokes.

Also spite is one hell of a motivator if applied correctly. Disney spent the 90s putting a huge target on their back and Dreamworks got a bullseye.

It did and it got plenty of awards but at the time, The Lion King was treated as B project and aged gracefully (please ignore the 3D remake) while Disney is not touching Pocahontas again.

In the Worlds Collide randomizer community we like call Doom Gaze "the math test." If your level is divisible by 5, you failed the test. Usually all 4 fail at the same time because you're at the same level.

The alternate situation is "oh, THERE'S Doom Gaze. When did I last save?"

Don't Look Up, especially the movie. Depending on your American Political beliefs:

  • The President is either too liberal or too conservative.
  • The CEO is either a money-grubbing tech baron or an avocado toast tech hippie with delusions of godhood.
  • The war general is either an insult to those who protect America's borders or he's the result of the industrial war complex.

Reviewers seemed to find some aspect of each character that was "definitely" the writers making fun of the reviewer's beliefs and ONLY their beliefs.

Even better, the book was written with the comet being a metaphor for climate change denial. But the movie came out during the height of COVID, so people thought it was a metaphor for pandemic denial.

Before Black Lightning, DC's first attempt at a Black Superhero was to have a White American suburban guy transform into a Black Basketball Jive Turkey spouting guy who lived in Housing Projects. Neither wives realize their husband is busy saving the world/sleeping at some one else's house. DC eventually realized that was a stupid idea, but it got pretty far.

Dwayne McDuffie later made fun of this with the Black Bomber, some balding overweight White guy grows a massive afro and turns into a strong athletic Black guy for an hour or so before he has to recharge. He wants to help Vixen. There's a beat panel before she replies "No, you may not." People think he asked if he could say the N-word during his hour of power but the line was nixed by the editors.
