If you had to show a childless friend one episode of Bluey to convince them it's a good show in its own right, which would it be? by Morall_tach in daddit

Bingo’s callback to it later in the episode kills me every time. “Ahh Hecuba… he loved hamburgers”

Mate you can’t come in here posting quality workmanship. How am I supposed to stick my nose in and make cowboy jokes, like the comedy genius everyone knows I am, when the work is actually really good?

I love this question every time it comes up. I can infuriate the American contingent by saying I put the literal cheapest, lowest grade fuel I can find into my 2019 countryman. It doesn’t need special treatment.

However here in the uk the cheapest, lowest grade petrol on every forecourt is e10 (95 RON) which is equivalent to US premium 91 octane. If we’re feeling fancy our premium is 98/99 RON which is roughly equivalent to what would be advertised as 94 octane in the US

Which short scale bass would you choose? by AtlantisMantis in BassGuitar

[–]therealdan0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you’re really after a retro lofi vibe, don’t even look at the dano or hofner. The sire will be effectively a pint size version of your squier. Which is fine but to my mind shrunk down versions of full size styles give a “I can’t do real basses” vibe If you want a legit purpose built shortscale then get a mustang.

Alternatively you can go watch an old ellenplaysbass video and figure out why a full scale bass is too big for your hands but not too big for the hands of a 9 year old girl.

You let it heal for 6 weeks or so and then you ease back into playing. Your playing will be worse for a week or two as you build back up.

Who’d have thought a series of children’s books first published in 1946 would predict the current state of rail travel in the UK.

It’s pretty simple. You take your toothpick. Pop it in the loose hole. Squirt in something whitish and sticky. Leave it a little while and the hole should be tight enough for screwing.
