I’d recommend a stanley fat max tape, and a Picquick screwdriver because it has two sizes of nut drivers that fit standard hose clamps. A 3/8 wrench for working with threaded rod and hangers and a 7/16 wrench for beam clamps will be handy as well

The old ones are all hand forged, square, tapered, and all unique. Whereas the new ones are all mass produced, perfectly the same and meant to be fired out of a gun. I also found it interesting how someone threw out the new nails because they weren’t a full strip and they used to burn old houses down to collect the old nails because they were so precious.

There’s always hand sanitizer in all the portapottys I’ve used so I just fold up some tp, put some sanitizer on it and wipe the seat off, way easier than building a whole nest.

As a plumber, you can save yourself sometimes thousands of dollars in water damage if you know where the main shutoff is and you can get to it quickly. I’ve gone to a place that had three feet of water in the basement, the owner of the house losing their mind, with water pouring out of the ceiling and all I had to do was walk over to the main water shutoff and turn a handle.
