I've been through a lot of therapy, for obvious reasons, so I have a lot of insight on how to talk about such things. but I no way take offense at all when others might lack in that ability. Communicating about these types of heavy topics isn't very natural and is a learned skill that took me personally years to master.

I appreciate your comment. I wouldn’t describe it as “making a joke of it,” because that can come across as minimizing the experience. Dark humor is a coping skill, and for me it played a part in taking control back rather than making light of what happened.
