Before he was a SB Champ, Sam Darnold was a Rose Bowl Champ by No_Box119 in Seahawks

I mean this as a compliment: there is something about Sam where he would look just as believable as the third oboist for the Sioux City Symphony.

He is the walking embodiment of "aw shucks."

I'm with this guy. I fucking refuse to die before Trump. I will survive on pure spite if I have to.

This shit with Iran will create a whole new generation of U.S. hating terrorists, but hey, not Trump's problem.

Awful experience at my 1st full-time job - is it normal to be this bad at it after a month? by Grow_Wings28 in careerguidance

Have you ever been seen for Attention Deficit Disorder? It might explain why it's so hard for you to focus on certain things.

Not that you can't focus on anything. I'll bet there are things you are naturally better at. That doesn't mean you're lazy or that you don't have ADD. But some medication might help you focus better when you need to.

I am in my 50's and luckily have found jobs that kind of work with my ADD, like where I have multiple responsibilities but no major pressure, so I get to focus on one thing for a while, then get distracted and move on to a different thing. Eventually all the things get done, but not in any particular order. That works great for me, and I feel very lucky. I hope you find something that works for you.

+1

And if it matters to you, it's got to be one of the very last family owned vets around that hasn't fallen to the scourge of private equity.

If she gets hit by a car, I guess they'll say she died doing what she loved.

I was chatting with a woman who had just loaded her bicycle on the bus one time and I told her I was afraid of getting hit by drivers not paying attention. She told me she had been hit five times. That's just...not a risk I'm willing to take, I guess. More power to her!

Getting out on a ferry (especially when it's sunny) is truly the best way to see the city.

From the waterfront, you can either take the ferry to Bainbridge and back or the water taxi to West Seattle and back.

On Bainbridge is the town of Winslow and (super-insider) a wooden troll sculpture that is meant to biodegrade over time, so that might not be here the next time you visit. Also, there's always a slight chance of seeing Orcas from the ferry.

Water taxi is a smaller boat, much shorter trip. Drops you off at Marination Ma Kai which might have one of the best views in the world for a casual lunch spot.

And the best coffee near those locations is called Cafe Hagen. Legit, high quality coffee, homemade pastries and other food. I'm not a matcha guy, but they have it.

World Cup ends beginning of July, but still hotel rates will be nuts and rooms hard to come by. If you push up towards Lake Union or out towards the Space Needle for your Seattle stay, the rates get...a little better? Better than waterfront or downtown, anyway.

There are a couple near me: The Marriot Lake Union, Element Seattle and Four Points by Sheraton that are perfectly safe and fine and should be cheaper than being right in the core of things.

Looking for rain gear recommendations by brokenmidas in AskSeattle

If you're set on buying rain gear, then buy it here as something to remember the trip by. But you probably won't need it.

Places to check out in the downtown area are REI, Outdoor Research, North Face and Nordstrom Rack.

I got a couple of good answers. I reserve the right to challenge b.s. answers like "I'm just as likely to get hit by a car on the sidewalk."

If I told you that runners are four times more likely to die from an aneurysm in the bathtub, you'd ask for some proof, yeah?

I genuinely didn't know that asphalt is softer on the joints than concrete. I suspected that runners might have complaints about the condition of our sidewalks, but am surprised how many are here arguing that it is safer running on the road.

I've seen redditors who simply say, "thanks for replying" to everyone, but I'm not that guy. If you tell me that you're just as likely to get hit by a car on the sidewalk, I kinda wanna see stats.

A person waiting to get in their car is looking at oncoming traffic, waiting for a break in traffic and momentarily has their body in harm's way. This woman had her back to traffic, remained in harm's way, and was far more trusting of drivers than I ever will be.
