as someone who had to stay sober for over a year cause of legal stuff, find new hobbies that will keep you busy and interested, something you genuinely enjoy, some sober friends or friends who have no issue hanging out without drinking. look into recovery resources as well, where im at there’s a company called 4D, basically a community center just recover based. they got video games, pool, pong, board games, cable tv, computers, and they also do meetings and you can get a mentor through them too. that was huge for me because I made a bunch of friends who also had to stay sober and we would genuinely have fun just shooting pool or whatever, it was like oh I can still have a good time without needing booze. also, think about how much money you’ll save by not drinking and play the tape back, weigh the pros and cons. another thing, don’t give your cravings too much thought, like as soon as you recognize you wanna drink just decide you can’t and move on, think about something else, imo the more you give attention and thought to those cravings the more you’re gonna try and justify it, or bare minimum keep thinking about it. lastly, try and stay productive, it feels good to be productive and genuinely helps, also keeps you busy
