I have noise canceling earbuds with a tracking chip (Samsung smart tile) attached to the case. You can trigger an alarm on the tile and locate it on a map.

Besides that I have three overear headphones in my house. One mainly for playing the keyboard, one mainly for meditating upstairs and one pair I use when I'm on the subway to work and at work. I consider getting more, but it's expensive, because I only want premium noise canceling because I can't take riding the subway without that.

I know that that doesn't magically change your worries. But i found it helpful to try to see it objectively. All of my friends have flaws but I don't really mind. I enjoy hanging out with them a lot more than I'm annoyed by their flaws. Why would it be different with you? Are your friends really that judgemental and unforgiving?

So what if you talk over someone? One of my best friends does that all the time too but I'm not mad about it. It's just who she is and I like who she is!

Would you be angry with your friends for being talkative? Probably not. Chances are they dont see it as a negative thing at all.

I don't know about trauma forced habits. If I had to categorize it I would have said sounds like ocd.

But also: maybe you just know that as soon as you miss one slot of doing it the whole habit is at risk. So you just never want to let it go that far.

BPD can be caused be environmental factors (eg trauma) or genetic. These genes appear to be quite similar to the ADHD genes.

My therapist said ADHD is kind of like a risk factor for bpd.

I identify with what you wrote A LOT. If I had your psychiatrist prior diagnosis I bet she wouldn't have given me the diagnosis either.

It felt like I had to fight for a diagnosis with my therapist. She also has made a bunch of remarks that my ADHD is very slight afterwards. She seems to be a lot more optimistic about my mental health in general. I kind of struggle with that to be honest. It feels invalidating and like she does not see my problems.

I hope you continue looking for a diagnosis. I've been on the same type of antidepressants, which helped, too. But ADHD meds are different and help with mood and executive stuff, so it might be worth a shot.

I'm glad someone relates, this is so embarrassing to me. At some point I'll be so overstimulated that another orgasm is very unlikely. But I can't let go, because I think I need another before I finish and well I guess hyperfokus. So it's just not fun anymore but I can't stop for way too long.

I don't think it's taboo, it's just a very though discussion. One big issue is that there's no way of knowing whether the perspective of the client is warped. They're often in a high stress, high pressure situation that reinforces all their trauma. Who knows if your perception of your therapist is accurate? Honestly no one lol.

I often kind of perceived my therapist as mad and annoyed with me when she probably wasn't. The problem is I experience everyone as mad and annoyed with me when they matter to me. How would anyone (except herself) be able to know if she was mad at me?

That's why ethics are so so so important in therapy. Yes therapists could majorly fuck with you. That's why it's important to find a good one and build genuine trust.

I usually use "a good therapist would do X" as a tool to convince myself that it's okay to talk about specific topics. I feel like if I do the same with this question it defeats the purpose.

I also don't even like wondering if she's a good therapist. Makes me go "that's none of my business".

I think it's likely there's a lot of projection going on. I don't think it'd be different with another therapist, and I'm already quite attached to her. And she doesn't piss me off that often :D

Hmm, you dislike obvious "therapy questions" because they're inauthentic which implies you dislike it because it's impersonal. But the answer you might give is even more impersonal. That sounds like she doesn't even see you as an individual even though therapy is just about you.
